+creeperfriendlyhugs tried it and unless you throw bunch of money into it there is rather slow progress there (especialy in comparsion to Hearthstone). Matchmaking is kinda bonkers regulary mathcing you to someone 10-20 ranks higher. Also base set of cards you have is quite small and that goes doubly for heroes specific cards. Each class has one single playstyle with no way to deviate from it. That combining with above mentioned slow progress make it unpleasant. Game has very interesting mechanics and it is nice idea with little to no RNG involved but it the can lead to situations where you simply can't react at all and have to watch your incoming demise without being able to do anything. Fact that player who has first turn will always during match resolve his card before you will lead to situations where you at beggining of new part of match simply lose to something that you can't react to even if you have all the cards and resources to do so. OTK combos are very common there. Somehow I doubt that Trump will play it after paid promotion will end

+iglidor I doubt trump will continue but the game has been fun for me so far. I have played ranked until rank 30 and have done 4 arenas. There could be a bit more polish but the game is good. I do want to see trump play it more. Matchmaking seems fine. 10-20 level difference don't mean anything right now to be honest, almost every deck I have seen have been mostly f2p cards even against rank 30s. Either that or decks just don't run many p2w cards. I don't think there is any OTKs, there are 20 damage turns but you have to build up to it and it won't happen usually until chapter 4 or 5. Having good healing at the right places will mitigate their burst. Generally I found the armor guy deck is extremely OP when you are starting out because it can out live every other cheap deck starting out. Just make sure to gain as much armor as you can and then heal yourself. Player 2 has a pretty large disadvantage right now because people have no clue how to play the game and will play their cards without thinking about what the other player will do first. I do think player 1 is advantageous but player 2 has to play around things to deal with what can happen, if the player knows what type of deck he is up against and what to play around, he can then counter what player 1 does before play 1 can make use of anything he play because player 2.

Majorohminus That vampire deck can kill you in second chapter no problem. First chapter he will do 8-10 damage and in second he will do 20 damage through those werewolfs that deal 8 when in MORTAL range. Or that blacksmith gal. First chapter she gets to 5/4 weapon. Next chapter she gets to 9/5 weapon and in third chapter you get killed for up to 50 damage through combination of duels and pulverizes. Two pulverizes deal 30 damage and two combat practice deal 11 each and all 4 cards cost together only 6 gold which is easy to get together in first two chapters, And even if you would play antiweapon cards, they are ussualy not strong enogh to stop this. Even if you would remove 3 attack and 3 durability you would still die to that combo As far as I have seen almost every class has something like this. Worst thing is that even if you counter them and heal at right moments etc... you will then still go into next chapter and if oponent is playing first he can simply play one strong card that will finish you off before your cards resolve. With 4 card sequences that first player advantage is extremely huge. Especialy in combo decks (which are almost all of them curently) because to outpace your combo he would have to use only 3 cards to your 4 card combos. Getting one more card into starting hand for exchange of being able to play one less card if you want to outpace oponent suck.

If you draw perfectly as the vampire chick sure its a fast game but thats not one turn kill. Thats like saying face hunter is one turn kill. As far as I can tell nobody plays the weapon chick because she gets countered by armor guy too easily and 50% of the ladder is armor guy, at least once you get past rank 30. Also every class can play weapon destruction if they want by crafting basic cards. The deck is a combo deck but it still usually take 3 or more chapters to set up, even if you don't get your weapon destroyed. There is also soft counters like gold and health manipulation. Of course a lot of that takes cards that cost more dust. The extra card is pretty big in the mulligan for a combo deck. To get the combo in your hand requires good mulligan. Player 1 has a much harder time drawing perfectly than player 2. Also try reacting by preempting his thought process instead of playing reactively as player 2.

CallMeCactusSok The 'if your hand is empty' cards aren't that good, that's why they don't see play. Also it isn't very good to empty your hand just to activate like one card (which is probably all you are going to get on average). The only one that saw play is Quick Shot which is only seeing play as it is a good card even without being activated.

some people are saying that trump brought face hunter to arena and it went as disgustingly as you would expect. however, this is actually a really bad deck. realistically, it should only have a slight advantage in the early game because of a large quantity of below average low drops and it should run out of cards often in the midgame. however, from what I've seen, trump topdecks ridiculously well. from 11:30 on for example, you see him topdecking cards on curve especially toward the top end of his deck even though he barely has any top end. if he didn't topdeck so well, it would be easy to see him lose this game.

But now that you are no longer going to be able to purchase naxx and gvg packs, i am wondering if it's worth it to buy naxx and some packs now.
