Makes no sense for it not to be double elimination. Like most video game tourneys, both go into loser bracket and play again. Still congrats to Glory. I just think HS does their top 8 so poorly. Where you can lose and go into a loser's bracket and the guy who didn't lose is punished in the final for all the money.

@@TheAnhphuong92 True double elimination would mean that in the finals since Jarla never lost, they would have to run back the series after. Look at competitions like EVO. Grandfinals, one of the two competitors will have no losses. If they lose the other guy doesn't win, they then play again because they both would have one loss total. I know that for time purposes they don't do it, but it isn't fair to Jarla in this example. Especially when first place is like 250k and second is like 125k. I think all the competitors would want to have a TRUE double elimination. That is what I meant. I am not a fan of one of these players over the other, they should have been doing this since the first World Championships out of fairness, when life changing money is on the line.

The play at 1:09:36 has to be utterly wrong, right? Jarla must have known the last cards in Glory's deck. He knew there wasa risk both minions could be removed. Playing 1 at the time must have been the safer route.

Not actually, if you consider all the combination of Glory's draws, you will find max pressure from Jarla has the highest chance of winning. If Glory draws chaos strike+blade dance, it does not matter if Jarla plays 1 or 2 minions, you can calculate the two scenarios yourself and he eventually loses in both. On the other hand, Glory has 6 soul fragments equaling 12 heals in his deck so time is not on Garla's side, Garla simply has to finish Glory ASAP.

Exactly what tjc said there were more 1 card outs to 1 minion than there were for that exact sequence of chaos strike +soul fragment + blade dance. Playing around that kind of insane draw would give glory more time to clear jarlas minions one by one

Sometimes you're just destined to win Cards hit you in the face; your opponents draws are dead; you get the exact cards you need in vital spots If you watch Glory vs. Bloodyface (especially) or Glory vs. Monsanto Then some of the matches vs. Jarla... It was just Glory's weekend to win. As a consistent spectator of these events, I would have liked to see some grindier matches overall Maybe it was the single elimination nature of the top 4, but something felt missing compared to previous (non worlds) regular season play. Congrats on the massive win

Second match was pure random luck. Rogue got all his big combo cards on turn 2. Priest got no hard removal and silences in his deck at all, no walls either (cabal is not for wall - don't argue with that) ? WTF is that deck ? I mean, yeah, rogue got lucky, but also priests deck was weird . Can someone enplane the magic of this priest's deck ? How 2 cabals and 1 soul mirror is a control ? :D Cabals are even a combo and not reliable on wide board... they take over random minion...
