My strategy is to only play Wild. Open packs until you have all rares, craft viable epics and legendaries a week or two after an expansion once I know what is good. Only dust duplicates when they nerf cards or when I really need the dust. Standard is horrible for F2P players since they are forced to recraft a viable deck often after Blizzard does nerfs.

This is the way. Especially now that Classic, Twist, and Duels have cropped up, your collection stretches much further and applies better long-term than it did before. Just need to get past the Blizzard propaganda that "standard is the only real format/game-mode". Between this and afk grinding Mercs, I've been able to craft several "for fun" or meme decks without feeling heavy buyer's remorse on a f2p budget in addition to some staples. It does reduce the dust trickle, but luckily there are a lot of cards that upon rotation no longer do well in any legacy format. Ironically, these are cards that although are technically part of the Wild collection, I consider them to be more "Standard" cards since most of them only had their time while in rotation.

The reality is a lot less smooth than this. Often, you won't get enough golden rares and epics to make any real progress for this tactic. Accumulating gold throughout an expansion also means not opening many packs and thus being unable to experience a variety of decks. As an F2P, you *have* to commit to just one class or two to main if you don't want the dust requirements to overwhelm you.

The process of collecting gold for 4 months certainly requires adaptation, but in the long run the strategy will allow you to get the most new cards immediately after release. The probability of receiving an epic card is small, but there is always a chance that you will receive it and this particular card may receive a nerf. For this reason, leave all legendary cards in the collection until rotation.

Meh can afk mercenaries during other activities work etc. I own 20/27 titan legendaries 8k dust rdy for next expansion and 9k gold. F2P. Be smart with dusting nerfed cards and try hitting d5

I farm about 5 thousand gold every expansion, buy 50 packs and can make 2/3rds of the decks I want. With the pass this is much easier. (I also obviously farm 2 thousand gold for the mini-set)

During one expansion, you van earn 6450 gold for the first 100 levels and then 15000 for the remaining 300 levs. Which gives you enough to buy 214 packs+ you can earn 4 new packs during monthly rewards (do 3 times before new expansion) plus there are events in game or Twitch so in total you can get around 235-240 packs each expansion. For "free" means for playing the game. When you'll add dust from extra copies+ that one from nerfs. It seems that game can be free with all collection or almost all. I'm playing for 6 years and for last two I have 95% of expansion collection which makes me possibile to have EACH decks from tier 1-4. GL&HF

the way Dora took the role of the devil's advocate was great, I already stopped pushing the auto-dust button since the last video you said it was a good idea, but I have a certain resistance to disenchant all the copies of a nerfed card, maybe thinking that it might come in handy in the future, also all the golden cards that I get I disenchant them immediately, perhaps I was half on the way to making the farm correctly, I hope the next year I start feeling the results, I'll also disenchant all the cards of past expansions now, for some reason I kept some of them too...

I have played HS for free for around 3-4 years now. I started by saving all duplicates, mostly those who were really strong (expected nerf) at the beginning, now I save all. When the nerfs come I refund them for full cost. I also refund legendaries that i never used or found too boring for full cost (why not, It makes me able to trade it for a fun legendary). But for a long time I got really good at duels, playing counter meta. This earned me a lot of extra packs, gold and dust. Regularly playing standard also helps to progress the free reward track. Now I am sitting on 7k gold and 24k dust, just waiting to spend them to complete my new selected expansion decks. Hopefully they sell the new expansion cards for 2k-4k gold again, super worth it --> wont have to grind duels. Another tip is not to go for gold cards. My gameplay does not have to be Balenciaga approved.

Started grinding duels as well with an average finish of 5 wins, but the meta got progressively more boring so I couldn't handle it any longer. I did get a lot of value out of it though for the 40 or so runs that I did during the current expansion

I feel this, my account looks a lot like Bot's, more Dust than I know what to do with. Almost feel like Crafting stuff willy-nilly. But it is nice to feel secure knowing I can afford just about any card or build that would suddenly come up that I really want to play. One example of the value I've gained from this and other tricks is the amount of Titans packs I bought with Gold or cash, which is 0. Now, that's a good set of course, definitely worth getting packs for, but with the free rewards and Standard packs I secured all Commons and Rares, I could craft what else I needed, not every Titan or anything (though I could) but at least a few. Similar deal with Twist, but with a Wild collection I had most of the Commons and Rares already, so that was quickly wrapped up, also got 2 of the Legendaries I wanted through that Priest Battle-ready deck, not a recommended move but if a Deck has enough Dust value of cards it's worth the buy. It's interesting that it would be one of the old farms, the Hall of Fame, that helped ramp me into this, with that starting Dust I felt more secure to Craft without hitting the button, so that's when I really started doing it. To answer your question, I think so. Your numbers and my memory will show that it used to be a good bit rougher, but one of the more underspoken good things devs have done over the years is make things more fair. There will still be some pain for people who are some amounts of 'wanting to play lots of decks' and 'doesn't want to spend time/brainpower farming', which is lots of people, but casual players or people wanting to push one or two Legend decks can find a comfy spot with a little time and attention paid. Shout-out to Zeddy, besides this channel he is one of the only content creators I've ever known since the game came out, who tries to cover value prospects as much as they can, even though they are a self-admitted disgusting whale. You're right, I didn't express my thoughts quite correctly. The more high rarity cards you have, the more dust you will get back after nerfs for crafting other cards. For me it is extremely profitable to craft the most useful cards, I actively use them for the game, after nerfs I get rid of them and create other cards. This increases variety.

blizzard should lower the cost of card creation by half, put 1 or 2 more cards in the packs and lower the ratio of legendaries to 10 instead of 20 packs,they can't expect to have to play 4 hours every day in order to get a decent amount of cards.

I never dust my cards, unless they get nerfed. When they do, I do not keep a single copy because, if I need one, I already have received the necessary dust. This way, I have accumulated more than 50000 dust over the years, as a f2p player.

The economics of the game have changed since the wild only set (Caverns of Time) was introduced, forcing wild players to invest in cards that can't be played in standard. Until then, we only needed a few key wild cards (mostly quests and mana cheats) to put into what would otherwise be a standard deck. So, once you have those key cards, you don't have to invest in wild, just collect standard cards and you can play wild for free. But the straight to wild expansion means diverting resources away from standard. If its a one-off, then I guess we can live with it, but I imagine that in order to support twist format, more straight to wild cards will be created. Losing two weeks of the TITANS expansion means two weeks less gold farming time for the Badlands expansion. Again, if its a one-off, it will probably work out OK. However, if they are trying to increase the cost of the game by offering more expansions (potentially going from 3 full expansions to 4 per year in standard) on top of adding totally new expansions to twist/ wild, means the game will get much more expensive for players wishing to play all formats.

I'm playing HS for almost 5 years and I can admit this strategy works. I haven't donated a single dollar and I've managed to collect 60k+ dust. I can afford myself to play 2-3 meta decks per expansion without worrying about dust. My mistake was to disenchant all duplicates of the cards, but now I collect them to disenchant after nerfs. Worth to notice I make approximately 9-10k of gold per expansion.

I think that some of the cards that will never get nerfed are very easy to spot, so you should be able to dust those when you're in need of dust

Thanks for the tip. I have being doing this strat for a few years, can confirm, it is working well. Now I am at 47k dust + 38k in the bank (which can increase after the nerfs). Since the game have less cards in the expansion and there is no copy protection, a lot of f2p players wait for nerfs and then spend all their gold on the pack that have nerfed cards. The problem of free to play is - spending lots of your *free* time to earn HS resources (gold, packs, dust). I'd rather call it *wasting* of free time. Some people just want to play HS from time to time and enjoy the game instead of looking at missing card in meta- or fun-decks. But they don't want be in game for hours. So that's pretty simple: you buying pre-orders and mini-sets - you saving your time.

I have been applying your strategy for over a year now and I agree that my F2P economy is healthy enough to use competitive decks. Thus said,I have noticed Blizzard attempts to hurt my savings right before a new expansion or a new mini-set with the arrival of the coliseum. It has great rewards but is also not forgiving in cases of bad runs. The average placement does not refund the entry price and I've been had more than once with this system, letting me with less buy-power after the events.

Im with Bot in this, i gave up on mass disenchant button too , since the free arcane dust glitch/bug in jan 2022 that blizz gave me like 8k of dust i used all the dust and crafted all the legends i could before the rollback so my dust was set to zero after that. Following your tip in an old video of yours i only disenchant the cards that gets nerf (all of them) for its 100% refund cost and now almost 2years i have 22k of dust. Its my first time ever i have that amount of dust in my account. Ive been playing since 2014. I stopped in 2018 and continue in 2020. Im extreme casual player, only play for fun and for the quest rewards never been in legend rank ( because i dont have enough time to get there), i always complete the reward track and buy the mini sets with gold and 50packs of fresh expansions, wait for nerf and disenchant. As you say its like a pasive income of dust for casual players. I like to play ranked wild, std and less often twist.

Spanish youtuber/streamer called "Feelink" also use this strategy. He pays for pack for the skins and he is trying to archieve a good golden collection. I play only a few decks and not that much in a month so for a not regular player is better to disenchant.

I just don't bother and play wild, in my opinion Standard is a failure mode in a Collectible card game, every year 3 expansions turn to literally dust, I will never play standard ever, even though the wild meta sometimes makes me want to crush the skull of whoever made certain cards, Dew Process may not be the strongest card, but damn if it is not the most obnoxious trash card they have ever printed, though maybe celestial alignment could fit that too, and i know they want to kill wild to push players into Standard, and I would rather burn my collection to the ground than be forced to play standard.

There’s many facts influencing prices and prizes in hearthstone, blizzards and multi-by. Company, dats a premium. And hearthstone a long term hit. Titan ability on one per creature, more like magic tg, that’ll supply dozens of expansions. I prefer to keep cards, twist will rotate further in the future. I prefer variety of my past over the ability to rank ez legend. In the last year I managed around 3.000 gold per new expansion plus 2k for mini sets. Dust is a 2nd resource, mines around 10-15k

Git gud with a few cheap wild duels decks. You only need 15 cards for each and then play duels aim for 8+ wins; or go into arena and aim for 8+ wins. Measly ladder farming is never enough.

I've spent much more on Titans expansion than any other before yet I still don't have the full collection... which feels like a scam, compared to any AAA title game for the same money you get a whole game with preorder and DLC as well; yet in HS you don't even get the full 'DLC' which costs more than a complete new game

Let's speak honestly (and it's always the same old story). You can play Hearthstone as a free-to-play (F2P) player and have 90% of all cards or 100% of useful cards. The problem is the time commitment. "Time is money," as they say, and in this case, the equation is absolutely correct. If you're willing to dedicate several hours a day to the game, you can be F2P and have all the useful cards. Otherwise, not. However, I believe that the major issue with Hearthstone is not the economy, which indeed offers the choice between money and time spent, but the fact that every month I have to grind like crazy to maintain my silly Legend rank.

Thanks for the great video again. Keep up the good work. I started to follow your strategy last year after watching your video and it gives a great result. With minimum play, hitting D5 and doing afk grinding I am currently lvl 315 and planning to reach 350 at least. You mentioned the expansion is two weeks shorter. If it were not, I guess I could have reached lvl 400 for the first time. The only thing I regret currently is that I disenchanted all the wild cards and two weeks later twist was introduced. Anyways, I only play standard competitively so it was not a problem. However, I still could not reach the free diamond legendary reward. I am usually stuck at 21 legendaries. Do you think it is worth crafting 6 legendaries for a free diamond legendary?

Don't feel bad about twist, because it turns out that the cards have their own expansion tag, so you would just be opening cards you already have, but because they have their own expansion tag, they won't turn up so you can't even disenchant them properly, when Blizzard said Caverns of time expansion was for wild, they just straight up lied, their excuse was well collectors would like to collect the cards, since I am a collector I call bullshit, it was just a excuse to get wild players to buy cards they already have, so for me Twist can go join Mercenary and burn in the trash pile.

Playing almost 10 years completly F2P just like you. Now I have 50 000+ dust in reserves nd all competetive decks each season. But yeah first 2-3 years had to wait for meta to settle, craft the top meta deck and master it, do not switch to other decks since it is not effective in terms of dust. This allowed me to not dissenchant cards and just build that 1/2 strong decks per expansion while saving extra dust from refunds from nerfs. Did not press mass dissenchant button in years. This way allowed me after 3-4 years to become competetive player always having 4-5 meta decks to compete with. Now after almost 10 years have all cards possible. So yeah, wait untill meta settles when expansion hits, do not insta craft new cards to experiment with and wait to craft actually good decks. Keep all bad cards so you can't open legendary duplicate of bad card+refund. Focus on getting better with 1 deck you really like rather than trying many different to switch to different one later. It seems like a better strategy to me to invest all gold into things that guarantee the largest number of golden legendaries, such as golden mini sets and golden packs until you get the first one. Because relying on the chance of randomly getting cards that will be nerfed seems like it'll give you a lower return than those golden legendaries. At least if your goal is to only craft what you need. Which seems more feasible for F2P than trying to get a huge collection.

I use this im top 5% on Na leaderboard for arena... I farm free packs hoard all duplicates every nerf nets me 10k+ dust i dont understand why people complaining about resources.... I have 360,000 dust and 160,000 gold sitting there accumulating...

What do you think of the reroll feature? I recently manage to get the diamond version of Eonar by archievements and had the golden copy. I reroll the golden to get another Legendary... was that a wise decision?

I love the reroll feature! It allows you to expand your collection a little and besides this, you can always refuse this opportunity. I always use this feature. I got the Diamond Eonar and replaced the regular version with a legendary card that I didn't have yet. The situation with gold cards is a little different; there is always a risk of losing potential benefits after a nerf.

They do on occasion. Rare, but it happens. What I used to do when I needed dust is browse the oldest expansion I jave and dust cards I think will never be nerfed.

well the gold rule is any card that affect on mana cheat can be subjected to nerf, cause they release some card that allow that other to make ridiculous thing that is just alarm till nerf

I spent more than 200 bucks on HS and won't spend a single more until I consider Blizzard deserves my money again. Meanwhile, my wild collection will banish so I can afford playing standard without further paying. Is it bad for the game? Maybe, but it's not my fault. Is it bad for me? I seriously doubt it. I won't disenchant extra copies of standard cards, but wild? Bye bye wild!!!

I think you can be competitive as a freeToPlay player in hearthstone, but you need to either play the game a lot or accept a less variance of decks and play some of then without its full potencial (playing without all the legendarys and epics the deck need)

This sums up most of the stuff I did, perhaps the only time I missed out was in the early months of HS and when the added Hall of Fame for the first time. But by now, my collection is massive, got 100% of all standard cards since Ashes of Outland, almost full wild collection too, and about 350.000 dust (not including golden dupes), and guess what? Before the end of this 10th anniversary, I will delete all my cards and dust. Just because Actiblizz has become WAY too predatory with their sales.

By the way bli$$ard just nerfed the most viable way to farm exp in the game by afking in the mercenaries and getting 168exp in 30 minutes of afk to farm some gold for packs. They just destroyed it in last update. So I'm quit from this sht P2W game. GL guys. p.s. Слава ЗСУ!

Don't use the mass disenchant button. And only disenchant cards when they get nerfed. Got it. As a casual F2P player myself, I don't find it too hard to get rares and legendaries. Of course I get like 5 legendaries per expansion. But I do get a lot of rares. All I do is the quests to complete the free battle pass then I leave and come back to spend all my money on the next expansion for at least 50 packs. I have been addicted to Duels lately and let me tell you that is a unfair gamble. Do not try to farm it. You have to win 7 games to recoup your gold. Anything below 7 is basically giving a tip when buying a pack. A pack is 100 gold. You pay 150 gold to play duels. Only 7 wins gives you a pack and that 150 gold back. And considering how ridiculous duels is, that is unfair. My average is 5 wins. Once you get to 7 wins, you face the most op decks that I am suspicious are bot decks designed to make you lose. There is no way people get that lucky. Or I get that unlucky. Do you know how many times I finally got the upper hand in a game just for their next turn to end me with the exact cards they needed? I once had a full board and they had a random damage card. It 1/8th chance of hitting me to end the game. AND IT HIT! How?! That is a 13% chance. And I didn't care which other card it hit so it was a 87% chance in my favor to survive that turn. And yeah if this happened every so often then it would be fine. But this kind of improbability happens to me in every 1/3 games. Worse, do you know how many times I have correctly predicted the card that would hurt me the most on the turn or end me? Too many. And I don't even know the cards that well. I just think "what would be the worst card to be played against me right now?" And it gets played. I have been so tempted to make a "Hearthstone Hates Me" youtube series just to show all the unfortunate luck and variations I go through. I swear I am on a list.
