Speaking of focus trees... the generic one is my favourite. Mainly just for the no ahead of time penalty for battle cruisers. Best way to kill big navies like Britain/Japan/US. 50 armour with modifiers and 3 in the time of one super heavy? for less resources? yes please. They even have better evade, speed etc. fully up reliability too to avoid those crits. It beats all other fleet compositions, and you do not suffer attrition as they almost always survive to repair, as smaller ships die and lose investments, and bigger ships cannot outrun and escape and die to massed smaller ships. (BC may not be the fastest class, but it is fast enough that it can engage and kill those chasing it before they can catch up into torp range) Of course sea control is based on number of ships, and they are pretty crap at taking out submarines unless you go for the convoy protection doctrine. But destroying the british fleet as any minor with only a single full production line, 2 techs and enough (cheaper than battleships) resources is pretty dope.
