42:19 Alright, you asked for it. You are right that you are pretty close with regard to the Ukrainian/Russian/Polish territories. The history is very complex, but generally speaking you didn't need Stanislow at all. It's especially hard to tell given that these days the city and region are renamed "Ivano-Frankivsk." Furthermore the regions in HoI4 named Lwow and Stanislow are in reality four different regions: Lviv (Lwow), I.F. (Stanislow), Zakarpattia (Stanislow), and part of Ternopil (Lwow). On maps I can find, at least. As far as I can tell Ternopil, or at least parrt of it, was owned by the Ottomans, so you need Lwow because HoI4 makes you take full "states." In the Polish/Ukrainian mess The Ottoman's posessions are regions known as Podolia and Right-Bank Ukraine. There's a lot of history there, I'll link to the wikipedia about the region under the Ottomans. Podolia contains parts of modern day Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, and Vinnytsia, as well as Cherkassy and Odessa. I'll also link to the wikipedia page for Podolia, which lists the modern regions it contains, and also history of the many nations the region was administered by. All of that means you did well to take Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, and Cherkassy. Given that HoI4's "Lwow" contains the real world's Ternopil, you needed it too. Odessa is the only bit super obviously controlled by the Ottomans on the Ottoman Empire maps from wikipedia. The only bit you took that you didn't need, that I can tell, is Stanislow. You did need Slovakia, at the least Eastern Slovakia, part of Southern Slovakia, and Carpathian Ruthenia. The quick summary is Slovakia was owned by Hungary and the Habsburgs, the Eastern parts of which were then owned by the Ottomans. I'll link to some history. Super short summary is Eastern Europe is a rat's nest. One of my goals when I graduate from University with a history degree is to make maps of historical borders that you can overlay on modern maps. Would make this, and understanding history in general, so much easier, especially when you don't have time to do a lot of reading. If I was doing this properly I'd pull books off my shelves, but I can't link to those, and it's 2 AM here anyway. SO here's to wikipedia. Anyway, love your videos, please keep making them, your voice is wonderful and the commentary is entertaining. Sqwizzadoi still very hard due to Irelands very low manpower pool. Even with North Ireland your total core pop is still like 4.5mil? So scraping the barrel will barely get you 1.1mil. Militarism and Military youth will add another 350k. So in total you can draft about 1.4mil people into your military with the most extreme conscription laws. Obviously if he takes Britian and her colonies and annexes them, he will get a massive non core pop to pull troops from and with the same extreme conscription laws he could get bout.... another 1.5 maybe? Gonna have to see.

Hey man, nice video! I was binge watching earlier ones when this one was uploaded. I have a suggestion though, there is a mod called the Formable Nations mod and it allows nations, like Greece for example, to form a new nation if certain requirements are met like Byzantine. The requirements are usually just own a certain and specific amount of land and you gain cores on all of them when you form the new nation. It would be cool if you gave it a try! It'll make runs like this one much more enjoyable. Looking forward to the next video!

The front lines keep disappearing in Africa because they updated from vanilla to where conquering the seaward or otherwise habitable provinces will paint the uninhabitable and vast interior provinces which have no value. If you remember you used to be able to go on a tear across the desert which looked nice but didn't really do anything. They simply obsoleted the Sahara tactically. This fixed some small problems but created debatably larger ones. Same thing in Himalayas, Gobi, Alps, etc.

I have an idea for a challenge but it's proboably going to be quite hard. Play as either Australia, New Zealand, or British Malaya and take over all of the land bordering the Pacific sea. You can join factions. This might be quite difficult so you could possibly do it so that you only need to control each bit of land at one stage.

Yeah I've seen a lot of buggy potential for internecine strife within factions but it's more usual that the AI is compelled to complete focus trees. I don't usually see them act on it, though. It isn't a perfectly put together game but I still enjoy it. Oh, and good job on the video. I like it.

Your map is pretty accurate. Ottomans fought Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1620-1621 and even their subject Crimean Khanate captured and briefly controlled Kiev in 1648. Parts of Slovakia were under Ottoman occupation for less than 20 years but Bohemia was only raided by small forces, not captured though.

Play as Yugoslavia and remain neutral, i.e. no turning fascist, communist or democratic. Play on the hardest difficulty and in general make it as difficult for yourself as you can bear (pick historic or ahistoric focuses depending on what you think is harder, don't seek Alliances actively, etc). This is roughly how it was for YU historically, we tried to remain neutral but got buttfucked by everyone in the end. Change history if you can :P
