The challenge is to play as Germany and form the Holy Roman Empire. This is often a problem, because it relies on a random event with only 30% chace of success, but you can also go around it, if you try hard enough. We will need to take Switzerland, France, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Yugoslavia, Italy, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and The Netherlands, as well as get Victoria 3 to rule our country.

Play as Switzerland and enforce global neutrality by destroying all factions and ensuring that no country is guaranteeing another or sending them volunteers. Furthermore, all wars must end. You may not interact with other countries in any way outside of trade and justifying and declaring war. This includes puppets. Once that's done, release everything you took along the way and bask at the sight of the fully neutral world you created. For added unpredictability, I'd suggest playing in non-historical mode.

The "sharpen air safety rules" decision gaurantees the Hindenberg's survival, at the cost of air production. You can do the decision when the non aligned faction takes over. The air production loss sucks, but you are gauranteed to get the necessary event chain.

If you time it so you start the Oppose Hitler Focus while still in a war (I usually go for Poland, France or Sweden), you can bybass the Rhineland focus while still in said war and then unlock almost the entire Rhineland branch for The Kaiserreich and HRE. You can do Anschluss as usual and it also makes almost all of Hitler's war goals available for the HRE, while still being part of the allies. Once you've done them all you can still kill off Britain as you did.

Taureor I tested it just now and it still works. For everyone who's interested to try it out themselves: - Just go for the Four Year Plan branch first, then justify on any one neighbour except the Netherlands or Britain as soon as possible. - Keep choosing the Civilians focuses until the justification is finished. - Declare war and fight until they are ALMOST defeated. - Wait out any focus still ongoing and then go for Oppose Hitler - Instantly after that, select the Rhineland Focus and bypass it. - Surrender the enemy and prepare yourself for the civil war. There should be more than enough time to position your troops. Win. - Continue with the HRE or Kaiserreich branch. But this time you have the Rhineland Branch almost entirely available as well. !Be aware that puppets will join Hitler but you keep all newly annexed Land!

So I ran into what I can only assume is a bug - the Dutch refused to return the Kaiser, i went to war, freed him and the game said he was recrowned. Only... he's not the leader, his son Wilhelm III is. So the achievement won't work. What a wonderful combination of RNG and bug... Restarting is my only option it seems, and hoping it works this time!

The reason Victoria would have been Empress Victoria I and not Victoria III is becauss Queen Victoria did not reign in Germany and her grandmother Empress Victoria was only Empress-consort. Only actual rulers of the crown are counted. Emperor Franz II. of the HRE was Emperor Franz I. of Austria as an example

Just did my first HRE run last night! Had a good handle on the two-front war against Italy and the Soviets. Then got the notification that the French Commune joined the Comintern. Cue rushing an army from the Eastern Front to the Maginot while desperately trying to capitulate Italy as fast as possible. But ended up pulling it off! Def one of the more fun runs you can play.

Hey Taureor, here is little trick about faction with Austria and others if you decide to play German Empire again. First you get Austria, since other 2 allready loves you, they will join anyway. Also if you go Central Powers route, there is fun way to get austria-hungary as puppet: Get Austria in your faction and annex them before completing that focus gives decision to Chezchslovkia and Hungary to recreate empire. Then wait them to have enough non-alligned support(50%, i guess). After this, release Austria as puppet and you have big and nice puppet.

Taureor, you have the highest chance of Austria joining you if you have 1. a good relationship with them and 2. did the focus reintegrating the railroads. The Czech have the highest chance of joining you fully if they have a high threat, so either do the focus protect the Czechs if the Germans demand Sudetenland or right after (not sure tbh, have to test). If they are in a faction or are democratic/fascist the succesfull chance drops dramatically.

I think he did it so that Victoria could become Kaiserin (Empress). Interestingly, she was one of the less controversial members of the German royal family (several of the men became Nazis). If you're trying to rebuild an empire, long term you need someone more likable.

Hey Taureor, I have a challenge I would love to see done by you: As Brazil, annex the Iberian countries (Spain and Portugal), all fellow former colonies of Spain and Portugal (or at least all of South America). Extra bit: And any other former colonists of America, Great Britain, France, The Netherlands. I believe this would be more fun in Road To 56, but I understand that you usually play Vanilla.
