This is actually my first speedrun (and record) in Hearts of Iron 4 ever. Pretty proud of it, since I play this game for quite a while now but have never felt the confidence to attempt a speedrun. Despite my obvious curiosity for fast campaigns in Hoi4.

​@@Carl-Gauss Did you know that Germany spent more iron producing submarines (fighting the UK) than tanks (fighting the SU). The next obvious step playing for Germany was cutting off the Eastern supply chains (US - SU) in Pacific Ocean. You need naval bases for this, so Japan becomes the key component for the Axis. Also put into account the amount of civs which the US wouldn't get from trading with the UK and consequently the US wouldn't have built its economy that rapidly. Trading with the SU is easily blocked. So basically the US and SU were fucked by any chance without the UK.

Capitulate Allies in 1.11 with No Step Back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpeteqaEiZuLqq8 The Barbarossa update requires a bit more effort to capitulate France in 1.11. You can check out the adapted strategy in the linked video. --- So, a quick explanation on what's happening here: By improving relations with Yugoslavia and spiking World Tension, you can start a faction with Yugoslavia. That triggers an event which is part of the Tripartite Pact that either leads to a civil war in Yugoslavia or a war goal for Germany. Yugo is already guaranteed by France and UK will follow suit, allowing us to kick off the war with the Allies in early february.

Props dude! Works great. The only issue I had with it is the allies disappeared as a faction. Harder to take Canada to get at US so I just declared on a Centeral American Nation and directly naval invaded. This should allow for amazingly early WCs...

The Allies are still around. Romania is faction leader ;-) And taking the US via Canada is a pain, rather plan naval invasions from the Bahamas. And yeah, you can get pretty fast WCs with this, not the fastest possible, but faster then any other regular Germany run.

Watch even older HOI4 videos when paratroopers were beyond OP (no elite units limit), you could literally have 1 plane for air superiority, 1 transport plane and land 1 division in Paris and they’d surrender instantly. Not a single bullet fired

Their unity is tanking at the start of the game due to diverse factors. Turning historical off can give all kinds of different results. Commie, Monarch, Democratic, Fascist France Edit: I mean quickly. And quite randomly and often.

I would like to know why the French did not react to you landing troops behind them, every time I have ever landed troops anywhere the AI send troops to block any advance yet the French send absolutely no one even though they have plenty of divisions

Depends on the version. Prior to 1.11 you just needed to be fast enough. If you hung around too long or used slow divisions, they could get caught. Since 1.11 France is actively defending its coast which requires a slightly different approach. I've linked a run in 1.11in the description of this video.

Was made impossible in v1.11. If you want to replicate this, you need to go back to 1.10. It can be done in 1.11 but works differently, I've got another video on that. 1.12 completely killed naval spam.

Pretty easy.. I've played as Germany and capitulated Poland and France with about 6-10k casualties (the traditional way/times) when they've had upwards of 900k. There a few ways. 1. CAS is very effective, and while it doesn't make this big of a difference, it helps prevent your own casualties. 2. Armored offensives. Easily cuts through enemy lines with the right division..People saying tanks are useless are WRONG. 3. Naval raiding. Optional, but without losing a single man you can sink allied divisions and comvoys in the atlantic, north sea, and african coasts if your sub techs allow. USA and UK are affected most obviously. It is possible to get 150-200 submarines by 1940-1941 4. As soon as a bubble turns red, losses skyrocket. If you look at the theatre overview tab, you can look at battles and their casualties. Any battle won will usually have 20-100 casualties pre-1941 and gradually rises afterwards. Lost battles/long contested/expensive victories will have 500-2000. This is most of what causes soaring casualty counts. Hope this helps

You gotta do it first thing after getting the war goal and it needs to be an indirect war goal (from focuses or via puppets/guarantees). Otherwise the navy will react and block naval supremacy.

@@AP-PHOTOS Not exactly, but if you do it the slow way the AI get triggered by that and sets up a patrol ahead of time. If you "suddenly" drag them into the war, they haven't had peacetime preparations (for some reason) and have to wait for their next "AI thinking action" to set up defensive patrols (instead of being ready to contest your naval superiority as soon as the war starts).

It works a bit differently since the Barbarossa update. France has garrison divisions in the area now, so you'll need to slightly adapt where you land and push. Good luck =)

Naval invasions are the biggest issues. When I tried it the British already had their navy in the North sea so I couldnt launch the invasions

It’s still pretty wonky, if you have naval supremacy and start the invasion before you declare war, your convoys have a decent chance to take off. But sometimes the Royal Navy will already have strike force/patrol active in the area if you have an active war goal on them. I ended up obliterating the Royal Navy using an endless stream of bombers over the English Channel for a couple months while I planned a second invasion of Hull. But that was just because I’d already committed to that run. I think I capitulated the UK by spring of ‘37. Could’ve been much sooner if the initial invasion of Hull worked out better. But it’s doable.
