@@ChachiSays Actually that hug probably has 2 components: In addition to proving his intentions, Nick is also thanking Charlie for not outing him to Tao in the bathroom -- which would've made Charlie's defense way easier. (You can see the pain in Nick's face in the second shot.)

Despite being friends for years, Imogen had never met Nellie. Meanwhile Nick invites Charlie to meet her, what, after 1 week of knowing each other? Nick has been hiding his real personality around his schoolmates for years, without even realizing it. Imogen sort of feels the same (and in S2 we'll find out why: she doesn't make friends easily so she just tries to fit in however she can... and this probably reflects in her sexuality and romantic interests as well) That hug at the arcade was definitely Nick's way of thanking Charlie for not outing him despite Tao tearing into him. You can see Nick closing his eyes when he hears the word "friend". I think he was both relieved that Charlie didn't out him AND sad that he forced Charlie to lie to his best friend for him. Charlie has accepted to be a secret, puts absolutely 0 pressure on Nick AND is ready to challenge his friends to defend him. For his part, Nick realizes how much Charlie is sacrificing IMMEDIATELY after they start dating, back at the rugby game. Spoilers: This will have a huge effect on him in S2: Charlie's unwavering support and protectiveness is what makes him confident enough to come out.

Having read the comics, Imogen isn't in it but with this lecture I kinda see some of the author's messages, I understood in Nick and Imogen's conversation that it was also about just personnality. When you're a girl in high School, and you hang out with only boys, you often maintain a character, the "cool girl" or something else, so much that you sometimes forget your real personnality. Nick has his sexuality burried but also his real personnality as well, that comes out (lol) when he's with Charlie, his mum saw that in episode 2, and I thought he was talking about a mix of both things to Imogen. But it's just my take on it, probably as an autistic person who has masked so much in high school that I didn't know who I really was anymore ^^ to be fair it would be cool if she was bi, but your reaction is the first time I was "oh... So it can be understood that way. Ok, fair"

I had the same experience as Nick in high school -- a nosy person forcing a "matchmaking" between me and one of my friends in front of other people when I was closeted. I "had" to say yes to the poor girl due to the same social pressure. After a few weeks of going out, with me showing no physical or romantic attraction, we broke up on amiable terms, and she ended up dating my straight younger brother afterward, lol. This show is so damn relatable.

nick and charlie has a speical bond and their connection towards each other and also there chemistry so powerful.and there passion is so magical and the hug that nick gave charlie is for saying iam sorry that u feel u have to keep this a secaret to me nick feel so bad that he ask charlie that but charlie is makeing sure that nick is ok that he will be there though the rough and good and he will support him in verty thing he goes though because they both love each other . and i love how nick was honest to charlie explaning what happen and how he feels and also to Imogen as well it take alot for sameone to press there feelings to people that they care about. and the photo was so beautiful them them in the snow together haveing a speical magic time together.
