There's lots of little things in the seasons. Their school badges go from no leaves to some to full bloom. The butterfly in the art room does from Caterpillar to butterfly as their relationship blossoms.

That scene with Tao and Elle in the art room....perfection! So filled with tension....and when the butterflies appear, you assume they're Elle's....but when she leaves the room and the butterflies follow along with her....2 remain with Tao....proving those are his butterflies!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ He feels it too!!!!

oh my god I actually appreciate your tears so much because it makes me cry toooo 😭 you’re so right about that Tao and Nick scene, I think it’s so so important. It shows that they’re foils in the sense that they both really care about Charlie but go about it in different ways. like you said, they’ve both seen Charlie in different ways and as people that really care about him they can come together to understand him in a more well-rounded way and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE 💗💗💗

Stephen Fry as the announcer and Olivia Colman added greatly to the series. They obviously recognized its importance to the young LGBTQ community. Ben needs a helping hand through guidance and counselling. He's floundering.

You: “I don’t think he’s going to be in therapy.” In book 4 of the book series Charlie has a huge mental health crisis and actually goes into in-patient treatment. This season covers books 1 & 2, so not sure if that will be in season 2 of the show or it they’ll mainly focus on book 3 for the next season. Because there has to be a next season.

It feels awful to say but I do really feel bad for Ben (despite him being a total a**hole). You can actually see him shedding a tear when Charlie talks to him after the race so I'm pretty sure that he really does hate himself.

I haven't heard you mention it, but Nick and Charlie are blue and yellow. :) Often they wear those colours, their rooms are lighted in those colours, the umbrella was yellow and blue etc etc. :)

And the colors swap when they are at the beach. Also the first time Charlie puts on Nick's color is when Nick gives him a sweatshirt at his house. It's symbolic of Charlie trying on Nick's love for the first time.

I think Charlie leaving the rugby team is more about what Tao said to him, the way they wouldn't be do the same project together like before cause he was on it. So kind of taking a stance on trying to put his friends first. Cause even though he's trying to push Nick away he's making an effort to make things rights with Tao.
