This is making me think I should try cake from scratch again. Its always too dry/dense. Meaning the one time I made cake from scratch like 17 years ago. It was grapefruit flavored and nearly perfect flavorwise, was it wasn't soft and fluffy like a duncan hines box of yellow cake comes out and I was like "well, followed the directions...guess this is just hard, I'll stick to pie and cookies and quick breads." But I'm also zero perfectionist. I like the way my stuff TATES and have no patience for fussy presentation or things that require finnickiness. I guess that's to the detriment of my whole life story... hmmm. (I'm sure it would be TOO citrusy for PH, but I add zest and at least 2 extra tablespoons of lemon to my lemon bars cuz I WANT A LOT of citrus flavor and Pauls OPINION thereof, can suck it, I'm not making what he likes, I'm making what I like. I call my dinosaur shaped ginger bread "Fremen Cookies" because when you eat them you'll be surprised your eyes don't turn blue too, I want that flavor that PUNCHES YOU in the mouth!)
