Hey! My little 2 cents on being ace: I still haven't "boxed" myself in one of the sub-categories(? I am not even sure there is a definition that fits me to a T. I don't know how to explain it, all I know is that my brain works different, my mind is literally not in the gutter at all, I miss the double meaning in jokes quite often and I have to think twice as hard to get it when other people get it in like a split second, I also don't feel sexual attraction towards people, I do feel attraction but not in a sexual way. I call it like "aesthetic attraction" or sometimes it's not even that, it's just "conceptual attraction", which basically means I get attracted to people as a concept more so than as a real flesh and bone human being (it sounds horrible, I know, but I don't know how else to describe it). And I know some allosexual people also experience this, but in my experience it tends to be with people who look smart haha. I am also bi-romantic, so it tends to be with smart men, pretty women and cool-looking/smart non-binary folk, that is my type basically... So yeah, it is complicated because I don't think I am quite demi, like around the corner but not quite there yet, and I still haven't found a label that fits. But that doesn't make me any less ace, and as you said, Noah, the word ace is an umbrella term, it doesn't really specify what's the deal for most people that identify as ace, and the only way to understand is if the person opens up and explains it to you.
