Used the same idea to control the heat valves on my RV14. Works like a charm.

Great that you follow up with the electrical side of the installation, not just the mechanical.

Funny those are the same linear actuators I sell for RC stuff. Actuonix in Canada the controller should have a built in amp out which shuts it down if it binds to prevent damage.

Hi Stu - I was looking for an old video where you describe mounting a GA35 (I think) GPS antenna on a curved surface using resin and micro I think. I'm building RV8. But I couldn't find it. Could you please point me to it? Also, did you use a reinforcing plate inside the a/c on the skin. How did you shape the base plate to the contour of the skin? Thanks v much in advance. Drum

Wasn’t me. Maybe Dan Horton from VabsAirforce. I would use foam to mold a base and then cover it in fibreglass. I’ll have to do something similar to mount my wingtip nav lights

Interesting method to control the heat valve. I have questions about weather or not your actuator is rated for the heat encountered on the firewall. I used a Boden cable, very simple, and does not take up much room. I’m also curious as to how you will route your scat tube from the heat muff.

Interesting stuff, Stu. It's the little things, right?
