good vid. some good points mentioned. lads, remember , non automatic fuels keep it simple, keep it safe, remember the basic principles of thermosiphonic circulation before you run out making the pump, valve, expansion vessel industry richer than they need to be. Get your feed /expansion pipe and vent pipes in the correct position "the neutral zone" and follow manufacturer instructions. I personally would stay well clear of sealed system solid fuel installation, design criteria changes the focus from system efficiency to system safety. Solid fuel systems can not be treated like automatic fluid fuels and trying to do so over eggs the custard. To much heat in... reduce the fuel... that`s a human , non automatic function.

Keep in mind that I've only used it for a couple weeks, that being said, so far so good kzbin.infoUgkxAU9pOCSV9Y5JprooHvfxTpOrt4hx8uRM . Using it at 8 ft. by 8ft. deer blind that is insulated. I have to keep the door cracked for it to get enough air to burn, but that is very likely the wood I've used. Much better quality than I expected for the price. Now if I can just take it easy in the beginning it won't be 90 degrees in my blind. All in all it seems like a keeper.

Thank you. Respectful comment to think about...... You can not compress and liquid, therefore, the pump sucks the water around the system as well as pushes it.Regards, Paul (Norwich).

Yes .and yes I can .This idea that sealing solid fuel is dangerous is only a rhumour put out by so called plumbers that do not know how to marry two systems together properly and do not know how to deal a system safely.

how do you connect to the stove....itnthere a kit you can use
@williebourke99623 жыл бұрын
By sealing the system using a pressure vessel and an automatic filling valve, you do not need an open vent .Also to make it 100%safe you use a thermostatic cold water injection valve .By using this you can run the pump at top speed .to pump the hot water to the radiators ..Also by using a tcv.valve fitted on to the cylinder flow ,you only heat the cylinder when it drops below the setting required .There's no point running hot water continually through a cylinders coil when the water is hot enough .

You can not connect a solid fuel stove to a pressurised heating system or a pressurised domestic hot water cylinder, it’s a bomb waiting to go off, you can use a heat genie which leaves the stove open vented, plumber here with 30years experience

i moved into an old house with an open fireplace. I've been told there is a "back boiler" which heats the water and radiators when the fire is lit . There is a switch which apparently pumps the hot water into the radiators ? The fire is lit i switch on the pump (i can hear bubbling noise) but no warm radiators or hot water . Can someone explain, why not ?

Does this prioritise hot water? Most people want the water heating first and fully, as quickly as possible, before diverting any heat to radiators.

I have a question for yah, i checked my valves either side of the pump both working, pump is working. The wooden boiler stove is working. But my radiators are not getting hot at all. And the pipes are going mad, the over flow is doing over time.. Any ideas please.?
@786benny7863 жыл бұрын
maybe you need to open radiator valves and blead radiators
@williebourke99622 жыл бұрын
It seems to me one of two things is wrong 1the circulation pump is not coming in ,and needs replacing ,or 2the thermostat to give the message to the circulation pump is not working .,but you say the pump is working..Therefore it's an airlock in the pump .You need to open it at the centre screw and the sir will come out ....I'm assuming you've water in the system .

Stephen 1974 insane suggestion for solid fuel heating. Some, high end stoves permit this, but they have emergency automatic cold water cooling which would be impractical on a boat with limited and occasionally empty or even frozen water supplies.
@hvacdesignsolutions3 жыл бұрын
We can't do that in the UK/Ireland.....it's against the safety regs. Go to America if you wanna blow yourself up.
@TheBenzer93 жыл бұрын
@@hvacdesignsolutions well it works..iv seen it iv never ever seen a solid fuel stove with the pump running lift a three bar safety valve..even in a house that is fully insulated and has an had an air test completed.. obviously it depends on the occupants if they want to fry themself as in not regulate the air intake into the solid fuel stove that's up them 🤣
@williebourke99622 жыл бұрын
To really safely seal a solid fuel system ,to comply to European standard ,you must fit a cold water thermostatic injection valve .This activates when the temperature reaches ,90degrees .and sends cold water into the boiler .to possibly prevent the superheated water turning to steam .This could happen if you had a power cut ,and a big coal or antricite fire .Then your circulation pump wouldent pump off the hot water from the boiler .

Nope! Sorry - don't agree. Header tank and overflow when properly sited limit System STATIC pressure. Pump pressure generated by drawing water from other side of ( cold ) system. You correctly say that stove can generate temps of 300C and above - but water circulation will limit that to the water's temperature ..... doesn't it ? Try boiling water in a paper cup / plate etc over a naked flame. but thnx for showing how / how not :-)
