Mike Morgan uses one of those stove top fans and he says it works well. Heats a huge garage and game room.

I'm gonna try the top down method on one end of a brush pile this weekend and see how it goes...well that is if it's not buried in snow...lol

Quick run out and tarp it, but secure the tarp well! Supposed to get high winds.

You could put chunkier logs on the base then a few thinner logs on top. Then just throw your kindling on top and sit 1 firelighter on top. Light and off the fire goes, vent open obviously.

I really enjoyed working with Japa and their machines, but I had to make a change for other reasons.

You were the face of jappa in the US. I wish you well at Wolf Ridge. You will do well wherever you are.

Line the whole bottom with full size splits... no spacing. Place 2 splits front to back (lay so they are about 4" tall and 4-6" apart). Somewhat vertical inside walls is best, but not critical. Wad up 3 sheets of newspaper into 4" balls (or cardboard). Place them in the trench. 4-5 kindling pcs across the trench (about 1" spaced). 3-4 pcs crossing those... spaced. 3-4 pcs crossing those ... spaced. Newspaper is fastest assuming dry kindling. Cardboard takes a little longer to spread. Fire starters? Put it (them) on a pedestal split to get 1/2 to 1" below kindling? Tighten the kindling's spacing?

I’ve seen lately where people have much shorter cut pieces of firewood and can really stack the wood in. Now the weather got so mild here I’ve been having just small fires otherwise the stove cooks us out of the house.
