Thanks for the video, I have a cheap 5 in one press I got with a sublimation printer a few years ago. I got so tired of creasing hats that I quit making them. I recently saw a video of a lady using a rolled up tshirt or towels to “build it up” like your mouse pad trick. It worked so well that I’m back in the hat game. Still need to upgrade press this one looks like the front runner for now. Stahls hotronix would be nice. But they’re pricey!

yeah alot of the time press marks, wrinkles, "indentations" happen when the hat doesnt have a solid flat pressing surface. filling in the gaps always help, adjusting pressure and heat play a big factor too. lots of trial and error with hat presses

Do you have any tips on preventing scorch marks on caps? "Allegedly," the Stahl's Hotronix 360 IQ is the only hat heat press that doesn't leave scorch marks on caps.
@BigBrandoh Жыл бұрын
i know nothing about that stahls press or their claims. scorching and burning hats is easy to do. adjusting your heat and pressure play a big role. using Teflon sheets help. but what i noticed is getting your pressure right is key, dialing in your temp and knowing what material you are pressing is a big factor. this is why i said in the vid. if i have to heat press a hat, i choose to use cotton, polyester or cotton poly blend front hats. because they hold up under heat and make my life easier hahahaaa

try lowering your heat and also using a teflon sheet.

I'm adding pvc patches and my current press is melting them. I'm told you need to use a press that heats from the bottom. Do you have any recommendations besides the Hotronics brand? I really don't want spend $2K. Thanks for your input!
@ikendoitdotstudio11 ай бұрын
From everyone's comments and complaints about non-Hotronix hats presses all over socials, I think the Hotronix is 100% worth the investment if you already have business coming in. If you're brand new, then it's too risky of an investment imo

Yo Brandoh no burn or press marks with this press? I bought one years ago from heatpress nation (the cheapest one - black and blue) and it was hell the second I got it. It's been collecting dust till this day lol. It's good for neck labels but for hats not the greatest. Should've waited it out and gotten a better press. Props for the info, heavily considering making the jump to this one.
@BigBrandoh Жыл бұрын
"burn marks" happen when you scorch the item. adjust pressure and heat usually fix that. also using stuff like teflon sheets help too. knowing the material you are pressing on will help with minimizing errors.

@@BigBrandoh I guess what I mean is more like a max width and or ht you tend not to create your designs ty
@BigBrandoh Жыл бұрын
all designs are different. sometimes i go big, or go small. depending on what im going for. the look im tryna achieve. to find the max size for whatever hat you use. measure the front height and width. and stay within those measurements when you design. thats all i do. all hats are sized different, so the size is unique to the hat you plan on using
