Hi Mark, the unit is set away from the house as it was setup for testing purposes at one of our engineer's houses.

good to know, how much power is it using . & how long it takes to ice up again ?
@MarcelHVAC3 жыл бұрын
Depends on so much variuos factors

It doesn’t use any more power than it does when it’s not in defrost. All it’s doing is running in reverse for defrost (runs in cooling mode) outdoor coil gets hot just like it does in summer for cooling. As for how long it takes to build up with ice again.. it uses a coil temperature sensor in a specific area of the coil so when the major portion of coil ices up at 32 or lower it kicks into defrost till that specific sensor is above the temperature threshold that the engineers designed it. somewhere above freezing maybe 35

@@timrowe234 where is it pumping heat from? Surely not from inside the house, as it does in AC mode? Are you sure it's being a heat pump when it's defrosting and not using resistance heat?

@@JamMastaJewIt indeed runs in reverse, but the indoor fan is off, so to the user it only looks like a pause in heating.
