Carlo ancelotti had poor runs at bayern,napoli and everton - now, he is back as one of the best around at madrid. Mourinho hasn't had a downward spiral like ancelotti has had, jose has still won trophies while perhaps not having the best teams to coach, and that is impressive and will still standout to prospective owners. You're not getting an elite manager in mid way though a season as a long term replacement. Jose is miles better than Poch and for 6months will increase the odds of European football. Once we get into Europe even the conference league, its another avenue to qualify for those competitions outside league position (which minimize the impact of another dreadful season or point deductions for example) We definitely need someone and Jose is available and much better than Poch. No one is suggesting Jose long term but as interim for the remainder of the season its good. More importantly we need to sack the 2 clowns that demanded Poch in the first place.

Mourinho would be the best thing that could happen to Chelsea, from a "neutrals" perspective. Can you imagine this young squad under Jose? He'd explode in about 2 weeks and ruin what little moral is left at the club. I get what Rory is saying here and I think a lot of people jump on the Rory hate train because he clearly is a reactionary commentator, he can be in character at times but here I totally get the logic, Mourinho is a Chelsea man regardless of Spurs job, he is a winner and he would represent a connection to the club that the fans are missing badly. I get his thinking. I’m not sure personally that Mourinho would be my first choice but he is definitely at the very least in the conversation for 6 Months. If not Poch then realistically who? Wouldn’t it cost too much for our FFP if we sack another gaffa? If Poch had a number 9 and some experienced players and leaders would we be in this position? Our chances stats are very good but our scoring is not. A lot of people don’t think about the bigger picture. It’s difficult to know what’ll happen but one thing is for sure if we lose to Villa and Liverpool it will be difficult to come back from and the fans will turn, we want to see a clear identity and some tenacity because we look very average right now.

How can you blame Poch lol. The entire squad is wank, Chelsea overpaid massively for all of them, the management is terrible and has been well documented. If you want to see what Poch is like, look at his time at Southampton and Spurs. when the operation is ticking on most fronts, he cooks like any top manager. Poch should leave not because he isn't good enough, but because the management don't deserve a top coach.

Don't know who the guy on the left is but he is absolutely spot on. Jose could improve this team in the next few months by taking them up 2 or 3 places. Long term though he doesn't do anything beyond that. Poch was brought in with the idea that his ceiling to improve young players over time could transcend europa level places in the league and potentially get nearer the top 2. At the moment that looks slim for him to be able to do but the ambition was still correct. Much love for Jose but his capacity to take a side up to those levels these days just isn't there.

Mourinho is the perfect crisis manager, though. You immediately become hard to beat and start grinding out 1-0 victories. The problem for Chelsea is that they need to decide is a short-term Mou deal what they want to get some stability or do they give someone years to rebuild and develop a new style (they won't do the latter, look at Potter and Poch).

Jose and Boley sounds like a good combination in fairness. He'll give him the money to buy his kind of players and Jose quite frankly is Chelsea. The only issue right now is Chelsea is too young of a squad for Jose's profile. Pochetino deserves more credit from Rorry and quite frankly I think it's mainly to do with the fact that he's a Spurs coach formerly. I don't understand why people don't speak on the fact the Chelsea have quite honestly had an injury crisis throughout the season.

I'm a big supporter of Rory, but there are times when I'm not quite sure what he means. Jose isn't the right choice for our future. Sure, replacing Pochettino with him might seem like a good idea at first, but what comes next? Can we truly envision Jose, with his sizable ego and Tod's involvement, avoiding another dismissal next season? What then? We should be looking for a manager around whom we can construct a long-term project. While Jose will forever be a legend at the club, he also represents a bygone era
