Why are the heating elements in socks not on top of the toes where the blood flow is?

@ odd it is opposite of warming hands. Even my heated grips on motorcycle I get cold finger tips but if I put a heat pad on top of my hand, I get much better result but usually too warm.

@ with hands you need the palm free to grip things, you can also put your hand into a fist, keeping underside or palm warmer.

@@Oldwiseguy-59my experience is because in the locations you mention get better air flow.I’ve nearly burned my hands by putting hand warmers in top of my motorcycle gloves, the forced air into the glove would cause it to become flaming hot. Chemical hand warmers become warm from air circulation but electric elements are better on bottom since airflow doesn’t matter and the heat does rise. I’ve also noticed full length bottom of foot chemical hand warmers seem to have an extra chemical added to help them still create heat when compressed and have less airflow
