Adam and Bassem both rushed to conclusions about the other person's points quite often. It got worse as emotions heated up. Bassem did a better job of staying calm while Adam fell back into reciting comfortable arguments instead of listening carefully and responding thoughtfully. Adam called Bassem intellectually dishonest repeatedly while showing a lack of intellectual humility. Bassem implied repeatedly that Adam was giving into racist tropes. I can't say he's totally wrong but it didn't help the discourse.
