Nice video Wally. Appreciate you doing this. I'm rebuilding a 68 myself and looking at both Vintage Air and Classic Auto Air. They both have their gotchas. I like the your creativity with welding the bolt and mount to the bottom of the cowl. Yeah, I wouldn't want to screw into it either. VA asks you to do the same thing, FYI.

Thank you , we all know how these cowls rust due to the access to the weather. And I simply did not want to create a weak spot for rust to start. Good luck on your installation as the tolerances on these cars is terrible.

Lot's of Great information Wally. Once you moved the box back a half inch did that affect the hole you drilled for the drain? I'm liking your new channel, Keep em coming! Thanks

Thank you. Yes it helped by reducing the severity of the angle of the drain. Adding half inch to the distance took some of the kink out of it.

Great video and tips to install the new AC/heater box! What made you choose getting new vs just restoring the old system? Keep up the good work and we are looking forward to more updates! Big Thumbs Up!!!

Thank you for the kind words. Although this is a convertible we plan to drive it in all weather (rain etc) and travel to locations including Arizona California etc.. I remember my wife and I being in Las Vegas on an August day a few years back and renting a convertible to enjoy a day trip. I put the top down and we left the hotel , only to put the top up and AC on within 15 minutes as it was extremely hot and uncomfortable. Hot rainy days as well we need to cool the interior as simple venting would not do. So in order to add AC I needed to swap out the entire system. As I have indicated this will be an extreme driver and comfort and safety is above originality.

I have not yet charged the A/C but all the other components (vents, heater switches) all work perfectly. Need to find someone and then I will let you know
