Thanks! Glad you watched till the end. I wasn’t going to include that clip but it’s kind of funny as an “outtake”.

Great job. I feel your pain - having done this on my '87 a year ago. I have no idea how you did this w/o removing the knee bolster and the four knee bolster nuts suck! I don't think my back has recovered yet. Thanks for the video.

Thanks! It was a pain for sure. I should have removed the seat too.

I haven't had to replace the heater core in my 84 yet, but years ago I replaced one on my 70 Mach 1...same deal, had to take the dash apart.

It's a pain - but totally doable.

Mike, thank you, any insight into doing this job is great, thanks for your video, how did re-attaching the tubular dashboard support go? was that difficult to re-attach? Best, Eric.

Thanks for watching. I found one of the missing bolts under the carpet and used another one I had in my garage. It was a bit of a pain to get the top bolt threaded. A flexible extension is needed.

Just curious...why the hell would you buy an 84'?????
@Mikes84Corvette3 жыл бұрын
Good question! It was sitting for sale at my mechanic’s shop. He was selling it for an older guy who didn’t have space for it anymore. At first I didn’t want it but passing by it nearly everyday it started calling me. It checked out in good condition and I ended up paying $2250 for a running/driving Corvette with 86000 miles on it. Plus it’s a manual!!

@@Mikes84Corvette I hear ya on that deal!! Only reason I said that was cuz of the Crossfire....i had an 82 with Crossfire and it was a problem. Carbeuators suck lollll. But the C4 is a great car...I had a 89, 93, 95. Now graduated to a C5. TOTALLY different ride and feel. Much better quality. Give it a shot sometime soon if you can! Goodluck.

Step one is remove the passenger seat...before anything else! My buddy's is on heater core #4...
@Mikes84Corvette3 жыл бұрын
Yeah - in hindsight I should have removed the passenger seat. Four heater cores? I guess he really needs heat!
@jaydoeslife43073 жыл бұрын
@@Mikes84Corvette The car sits so much that I think the cores rot out from the inside. He's a skinny dude so he can just lay in there and knock it out in 90 minutes.

@@Thekickbackartist I've done 2 and the 2nd one took about 2-2.5 hours. I imagine the 3rd will be even quicker.
