Wonderful lesson Heather! Thanks for sharing and I love how thorough you are at explaining your technique. For those who don't appreciate it, go watch someone play without the explanation and learn on your own terms, don't insult someone and expect them to change their instruction to suit you. My pleasure Heather. I am a newbie, just decided I had to learn to play the violin. Started out with an inexpensive (cheap) violin that had fine tuners on all 4 strings. Wouldn't hold a tune.....poor tone. Sound post out of position. Returned inferior product and upgraded to higher quality violin..... much happier with new violin. Then I found your videos, you do an excellent job of guiding us through what some told me would be a very painful process. Thanks for all the great & wonderful content you post. I am amazed that a violin aficionado of your caliber would put together such wonderful content for all of us that aspire to your greatness. Thanks you so much and wishing you Happy Holidays.

Great video. Any chance you have a video on doing short repeated chords? Like the chords found in the first mvmt. of the Bruch g minor concerto? I can't really get a ton of bow on those chords because of time, but I don't have good tone on that passage.

good, I can pick a chord on the violin with one finger on the G string the note C with the third finger and on the D string the note G with the 3rd finger and on the C string with the second finger and on the E string the note G with the 2nd finger and it forms a musical chord
