I am happy to share my complete graphite drawing commission for Kevin Hart! I have been very grateful to create drawings for Kevin, and to be given the opportunity to draw this striking image of him, Chris, and Dave was an honor. Thank you to Mathieu Bitton for the great reference photo!

Whenever someone praises someone else’s talent doesn’t mean that he doesn’t recognise the hard work behind this. I believe that it has been excessively annoying the fact that people get “angry” by someone else’s calling an artist talented rather than a hard-working person. It’s been really really tiring and overused the “It’S nOt TalENt iT’s HaRd WoRk” thing

she traces the picture before she does her thing. its literally the only way to do it and no, its not cheating. tracing is literally just the outline to ensure the proportions are bang on and the details she will add ontop all fit nicely together. all the hard stuff is when she adds life to those lines.

I don't think so dude. If you reach this master level of shading then of course you can calculate and line up a human figure from a photo with extremely high accuracy everyone who pratice art for 2 years and above can do the same, but the shading here is what makes the difference.

@@tebogotwala5185 lots of artists trace from a big light box or they get a cheap tv laid flat to trace from. the tracing is purely just to save time as thats not actually the hard part as its the details and getting values of shading right. i do photorealism and tracing saves like a few hours if its a big image as doing it by grid method is fucking exhausting and you may have to rub out over and over which can ruin the paper. usually once i have the image down i never use a rubber once and only to pick out details.

you know what kills me the most? how she can look at a photo and for example see a small piece of jewelry or a pattern on clothing and be able to recreate it as if she saw the pattern or piece in real life or owned them. That is why I never could get to her level, she is the GOAT. I wish I could find some tutorials I'd love to get back into drawing.
