Ok I’m so excited!!! I know this is an unpopular opinion but I prefer West send Heathers over Off Broadway Heathers. The set is much better and the costumes are also better. The whole production in general just has a bigger budget. Also, I was never a big fan of Blue, and Never Shut Up Again is such a bop. I will say, I’m a bit sad Carrie and Jamie aren’t in it, but I can’t wait to see Ailsa and Simon in this!

Same I prefer west end to off Broadway and I enjoy I will never shut up again and I say no. Also I like your welcome better then blue and I do wish I could've seen Carrie and Jamie and not just from the videos on KZbin but I am excited to see this cast.

It may have better production quality, but the writing itself is league's better in the Off Broadway version. I will never forgive the West End version for censoring the hell out of Big Fun and Me inside of Me. Plus Blue is a way catcher song than You're Welcome and makes more sense for Kurt and Ram's characters than randomly turning them into rapists. In fact, it bothers me that the West End version tries even harder to justify JD's actions by doing stuff like this, like making Kurt and Ram actual bad people and JD's dad an abusive sociopath. The only thing I agree with is that Never Shut Up Again definitely should've been in the off Broadway version.

@@angelus1738I absolutely love the West End Heathers. The set is far better, as are the costumes. And also, in the Cast Recording on Spotify, the singers are all amazing, whereas in the Off-Broadway version, I think their voices are almost all a little…how shall I put this? Weak. I really don’t want to be rude. I love Barrett and Ryan McCartan’s singing but I really don’t think they were cast well for the roles, whereas Carrie Hope Fletcher and Jamie Muscato…well I could listen to them all day. And I do.

I prefer the off-Broadway production as a whole, BUT I'm also not a big fan of Blue and prefer You're Welcome! I just love Barrett's portrayal of Veronica.. I honestly hate that Barrett never got to record I Say No. (Carrie sounds amazing, though)

Wish Veronica had the same costume design as when Christina played her! That was the best West End design. It looked less like a costume and more like an actual blazer (pretty sure I've seen similar ones in fact!). It was less boring and more fashionable while looking comfy: the perfect pick when you consider the Heathers know their stuff and chose it for her. The skirt also looked like an actual skirt and iirc the shoes were those awful brown shoes that clashes with the color scheme (and are just bad looking IMO mostly for the preppy style) The fact that it was also more in-line with what Veronica would wear in the movie was also neat. I really hope they will bring it back anyway. It's just a shame because Alyssa (I think that's her name?) stated her makeup was to reflect Winona's and iirc her acting choices were also more influenced by her. It's a bit sad she didn't get the costume that looked the closest to the movie too

@@ondiiina most of the Blazers used in Heathers are from shops so they buy them from like Shein or Primark and then they amend them to what they need. The blazer style is usually down to the actress and why they have available so there may be 3-4 different Blue blazers and each actress picks

Just as I know that they have 3 different models (the one in this video which was based on the first UK blazer, the updated one with 2 buttons back when it was first transferred to the West End, and the one that was made for the West End revival that Christina shared her insights for) and that the first two models were originally bought from Primark and modified. Yes, they reuse costumes but when you make a new costume/design for the revival, it's the one that will be reused. Furthermore, it was more detailed and better quality as they had a better budget to make it. The old models look cheap (and well they are so it tracks) and quite frankly, boring. Especially when out next to the Heathers' costumes that are more detailed and show off their personalities better (except when they don't reuse the white and yellow skirt for MacNamara... Honestly they should have made new ones instead of getting a random plaid skirt when it doesn't fit the actress!). It doesn't seem to be up to the actresses and more of them trying out a new costume and abandoning it (IMO a bad choice) which is more common for a professional production. Your answer isn't contracting my points. Heathers has the budget to make replicas costumes and alter previous costumes is common. They could have easily went with the design they had first chosen for the revival. There's only one main actress and one understudy so it isn't a lot of costumes and the fact that it was oversized makes altering easier than having to change a fitted blazer. This is very much a choice the production team made and one that I feel isn't the best. (I mean compare it to the Off-Broadway costumes and it looks like a major downgrade!)

Kinda want them to release it too because it felt like a completely different show (if you know, you know). Just give us both versions for the fans of the two! @@EatTheRich848 the off-broadway production was more mature. It had dark humor ("Blue" was terrifying yet funny, genuinely one of those songs where you feel bad to have laughed. It also felt more in-line with how they portrayed Kurt and Ram in general (more sympathetic which is disgusting but at least the entire thing is coherent and they're meant to be comedic side characters so once they die their role doesn't feel as problematic), cursing (which was taken out once the show transferred to the UK back in the day), it felt more coherent in general (I Say No is simply the worst addition for the plot, the characters, and for a lot of reasons; the new songs also do not fit in musically in general). The way the actors are directed is also different (Veronica being a sweet naive nerd, MacNamara being sweet and "forced" to go along with the Heathers). The music also lost its edge, it became more generic pop musical theater-like (presumably so the new songs don't stand out too much) It's more "sanitized", cleaner. More family friendly (except the sex scene ofc)

Probably cost and lack of interest at the time. Proshots are a very expensive investment and it's not a luxury that most Off-Broadway shows can afford. Also regarding lack of interest, that production only ran for about 5 months compared to this current run which keeps getting extended, showing that it probably wasn't getting general audiences in seats the first time. As much as some fans don't want to admit it, the show is much more popular and financially sustainable now than it was 8 years ago
