Made these tonight and they definitely did not disappoint. Could only find Bush Honey baked ( Canada) so cut the brown sugar in half and substituted ground beef for ground hot Italian but these turned out dynamite. Wife says they were the best smoked beans yet, and that’s saying something. Thanks for the excellent recipe!

Of course this is a personal choice but I found alternating between green and red, yellow, orange bells important when deciding which seasons and sauces to use. Green is definitely a more powerful flavor and can overwhelm some seasons. 💫 “the more you know”

You can absolutely do this in a crockpot! The overall cook time will change. Would probably cook a lot quicker in a crockpot, but you can let them simmer for hours on low.

I know I’ll get death threats but I think we use too much sugar in beans and bbq sauce. Once it evaporates it’s even sweeter. You have so many great flavors working together in this recipe, you could leave off most of the brown sugar and still have award winning beans.

Dude. What is wrong with you? LOL...Damn son. These beans are so intensely the best damn baked beans on the planet y'all. Full Stop! We tasted the mix before they even hit the smoker and were like DAMN MAN....ridiculous. I smoked the ribs and carnitas above the beans. After about three hours, shredded the chunks of butt and added that into the beans. Then smoked with Cherry (from Indiana but live in Texas...that's how we roll back home) Just freakin' Ridiculous brother. Ridiculous. That's it. Done searching. This is it.

Since we had the Carnitas already....no brainer. Put the pork in the beans and slice the brisket. Lol. Could have gone either way in by book. Its the sauce. Doesn't matter what you put in it.
