Do the ashes that escape through the smoke stack ever burn holes in the plastic?

How many times during the night did you have to stoke the stove to maintain good temps so plant starts wouldn't get too cold? Where was this located? Goshen IN?

If it’s 30f at night how warm would the stove keep it inside without the sunlight in the daytime?

I used a wood heater in the house. Just a 15 gallon barrel. And 4" pipe. Every so often I had to clean that pipe out I assumed because there's not enough pitch to tha pipe. Have you had any issues make you have to clean that pipe?
@stevengoogin37293 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the videos! I plan on following your lead with placing the piping out the fan frame. We're going to install a Clayton Hotblast wood furnace in the next couple weeks. If you don't have one already, I suggest adding a spark arrestor to the end of your pipe outside. This will prevent any flammable debris from exiting the pipe and landing on your greenhouse plastic. Take care!

Nice work! One tip though would be to put ear protection on when pounding t-posts --you would be surprised how hearing is affected long term.

I’m thinking about making a green house not nearly as large as yours, and I’m amazed how well your furnace warms up your green house. How often do you have to refill the furnace before it gets to cold? Do you constantly have to refill it, or does keeping the green house closed help the heat retain for long periods of time?
@GoshenFarmandGardens3 жыл бұрын
It gets cold pretty quick so I just never let it go out.

Adding the exact same setup to my greenhouse. Question, did you use single wall for the entire run?

Yep, I did just to save a bit of money.

probably good to put some fence around the stove

Uummmm… Strong suggestion… Broad cast your poultry feed in several different areas n directions. It makes it easier for everyone to get some , n it’ll spread out their scratching action

Why such a tall greenhouse? No judgement. I'm just thinking that's a lot of space to heat. I'm sure there is a reason. I just don't know what it is
@charlesmenken28463 ай бұрын
You have never operated a greenhouse. His heating is super inefficient for wood. Rocket mass heaters if the creator sees this
