When I put a heat shield behind a wood burning stove i like to use ceramic electric fence insulators for spacers. Just run a screw through the hole in the center. Perfect spacing for air flow.

Stove pipe is designed for the lower end to also fit INSIDE the adjoining section ! That way any condensation will not leak out the seam. The piece you cut off was crimped so that it would easily fit INSIDE the collar of the stove.

Loved that ASMR water drips! I'd put a colorful random selection of tiles on the backer board. Make it a pretty feature to brighten up the cabin. Oh I love a good meatloaf. Not sure what is on the menu tonight but I do have ground beef! I'm much more aggressive with my seasonings tho. Not sure I've ever measured herbs or spices. I just go with my intuition. I know it has been mentioned alot, Al, you should get a replacement pipe and install it properly. @7:03, you cut off the crimped end that should go INSIDE the top of the stove, and you can cut the other end easily to accommodate for the height in meeting up with the exit pipe in the wall. I am sure you will end up replacing it when you read all the comments. Great video! Everyday has the potential to be a learning experience regardless of our age.

They make a fitting for these oval stove openings that are like $25. I don't know why he didn't just buy one, and put it together properly. Yes, the crimped end goes down and the bevel inside the stove.

Well as that's a COAL stove ,it a wood stove, your supposed to run the pipe crimp side up. On a WOOD stove it's crimp side toward stove

Al looking great, I would suggest a metal pitched roof as a well it will guarantee no snow load and prevent the connex roof from rusting and failing in the future. You should also hire a guy this summer to shot blast it then paint it like hunter green. I start every day with you guys, can’t wait to see the off grid property once it greens up. I watched so many videos yesterday I can't remember who to credit for this idea, but they made tortillas using 1 cup of mashed baked sweet potato to one cup of flour. Kneaded it together and rolled it out and cooked them about a minute on each side and used shredded chicken and cheese inside. They looked delicious.

Good morning from OK! Gina, I mix together 3 tablespoons of ketchup in a small bowl with 1 tablespoon of mustard, and 1 1/2 tablespooms brown sugar. Then place this mixture over the top of my meatloaf, and bake. I'm a little lazy, and don't chop the oatmeal. I just measure, and put it directly in the meatloaf.

Give the oats a try sometime with out breaking them down further in the processor. It works well and you won’t be able to notice the difference. Plus saves time and you don’t have to wash it either then....!!

If you really want to do it right, put sheetrock on the wall and then install the cement board with spacers over the sheetrock. This will allow and air space between the hardyboard and the sheetrock.

Al, when you cut cement board, use a sheet rock knife, score one side 2 or 3 times, turn the board, do the same on the opposite side, then snap the board, same as you would sheet rock.. No dust, no problem..

Hi, in the UK (where Worcestershire is) we don't bother to say the whole word, we shorten it to Worcester (pronounced wooster) sauce. Tonight I'll be cooking salmon steaks topped with a little barbeque sauce then a mixture of breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, dried parsley, dried thyme and dried oregano. alongside I will be serving tender stem broccoli, peas and mashed potatoes. I'm betting Tanner would like some of the salmon ;)

You did a great/proper job on the flue piping AL. Creosote flow stays INSIDE. As for supper, I have NO idea why, but my property manager's wife thinks I'm not capable of feeding myself.....LOL. So,.... I'm having a HUGE platter of sheep, (ovejas), 'Birria' with 'old school' Spanish rice, tender Pinto beans, and the 'Hispanic version' of a mild macaroni salad.
