In this video on pokemon card investing, I go over illustration rares and in particular their pull rates and their psa 10 prices. Why do some command such high psa 10 prices?

Feels like we're in XY again. Expensive PSA 10's but horrible print quality. I did think the print quality might improve with reprints but so far that's not happening. Weirdly this creates a nice balance in Pokemon. It's easy for kids to pull cool cards which will keep them interested but the collectors have something to go for. Of course it's still annoying if you pull a messed up card but there's definitely positives for the whole market. Edit: Closing in on 20k! 🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪

It's not always about pull rates, but luck as well. I opened a box of Paldea Evolved (usually 2 sir or 1 sir and a ur in a box), I didn't get a single sir, and just got the gold energy. I've opened a box of stellar crown and got 4 illustration rares, unfortunately none of them were the Bulbasaur or Squirtle, when it's usually 3 in a box.

Quick question... I literally started collecting a week ago, after not being able to collect since i was a kid. The stragedy i kind of want to go with is buying a booster box to collect, and one to open. Ive started collecting crown zenith, and a little bit of paldean fates. Im looking to get my booster box soon, and i want to get it for either paldean fates, twilight mascaraed, or chilling rain. Which would you consider i get into for opening/collecting, and which for keeping sealed. I really appreciate your videos, as i have found them super helpful, and thank you so much for your time!

I think a lot of people are just not capable of understanding what a PSA 10 card is. Hence the lower PSA 10 rates due to Sw/Sh cards being easier to grade.

When you consider all of the irs in twilight masquerade the Eevee technically has a 1/294 pull rate

I swear Pokemon always does this. Starts the era with easy pull rates and then makes them harder later on in the era. Kind of like when drug dealers give you the first hit for free. 😂

Do the pull rates apply to a BB/Boxes only & is it the same with loose packs from all sorts of products other than a BB/Boxes?

It's across all packs, yeah. Well it should be but sometimes it gets thrown off.

Get Premium if you can afford it. It's pricey but well worth it if you watch a lot of YT. Gets rid of the ads and I've found the download feature really useful because I'm on a cheap £7.50 a month phone contract so I don't have much data.

Don’t blame KZbin. A lot of KZbinrs want to be paid when KZbin used to be for free just for fun videos. The more they pay content creators the more ads they’re going to put in. As a shareholder we aren’t investing in Google to entertain you. We’re doing it to make a profit. Youre welcome to buy KZbin Premium though and then you won’t have to worry about ads. Otherwise just accept it as necessary to pay content creators.
