Once you do smaller braids, next night do 2-4 large braids. Gives you a longer stretch since your hair is already pre stretched.

Separation is key mama. Also, you can't have soaking wet hair. Has to be dampened before you start braiding it.

This is how I stretch my hair and I use Shea butter to brush it out but sis I appreciate that tip about braiding the hair on damp-dry versus wet because that difference you showed was a great point on getting a bigger stretch!👏🏾💯

Y’all can also Bantu knot the braids after you’ve let it dry a few hours. Do them fairly tight that will help stretch them. You’re welcome 😉

I use this method when doing my braidouts. It gives me stretch plus definition. The only difference is I add product and I don't brush it out afterwards. Will definitely be trying this for different stretched hairstyles though 👏👏

This is how i do mine but instead, i twist my hair and keep them in for up to a month. When i take it down, i use it as a twist out for a week or two, and then brush it out for a heatless blowout.

@@Ladyniona only if it's majorly dirty but most of the time i don't. I'm medium porosity as well so my hair retains moisture really well. I never have to re moisturize during that month period.

Yes, you will have. I have 4b and mostly 4c hair, low porosity, short to medium length and medium to high density. I do this and it always works. Just apply little or no product. After shampoo, usually do add the only argan oil, then braid or thread or satin shoelace. It will dry very fast. I only add products during styling. The trick is, don't add much product during the process and don't keep in the braids In for too long. Takedown should be immediately after you feel your hair dry

There’s actually a different method you can use but it takes about a day to dry. You wrap your hair in cotton wool creating like spikes. I do it when I’m not blow drying. It’s good for volume retention

@@acm9005 lol it actually worked! But I haven't used that method to stretch my hair again, I just braids my hair down in 2 french braids leave them in for a couple of days, take them down and comb it out. And boom lol
