Reading danmei has brought me in touch with your incredible language and culture and I feel sad that there is such a division between us because of current politics. My first husband, thirty years ago, wanted to learn Mandarin so I learned a little too just by existing, but at the time I was interested in my German and Armenian. My brother in law married in a small village in Taiwan, so we traveled there and visited the museum in Taipei and saw art objects that spanned the history of the Chinese peoples. I felt speechless and that visit affected me deeply, that there was this incredible civilization of such achievement and complexity that I barely comprehended existed. Now all these years later, really because of TGCF and then more and more novels, there is something here that drags me deeper in. I believe what it is is the deep poetic love I find of the natural world that is no longer expressed in western thought. That is not to say we do not love nature, but not with elegant phrases in which every though compares to the movement of the grass in the wind or the elegance of the osmanthus flower (I do not even know this tree, the flavor of these cakes and now this former farmer wants so much to see these trees in bloom and know their flavor...) Just know that there are many of us who do not consider the politics at all...I only see the artists and authors to whom I am so grateful for having created the wonderful world of danmei and its associated manhua and donghua...and their many supporters who have helped disseminate their works. We reach across to each other in this way with our creativity (I write fanfiction) and I believe in my heart that the Jun Wu's cannot rule forever. Thank you for the music here. I think one day I will start understanding whole sentences lol.

What made me love the Chinese culture, it's first the discovery of the masterpiece the novel Mo DAo Zu Shi (I have the novel, the donghua and I'm waiting for the manhua and have many other things of MDZS) and the site ExiledScanlation. I watched The Untamed and The Legend of Xiao Chuo (it's a must see, a very beautiful drama, wonderful series) after I started to read The Offical blessing and bought the danghua.( Iam waiting for season 2) I discovered Chinese singers and other talents, so I started to learn Chinese. Really, you have to take the time to discover them, there are not only American actors and singers who are good. Thank you for this soundtrack. 🥰

I watched the donghua and read some of the manhua ages ago, and ive started to get back into TGFC again because season 2 is coming soon. Im really in love with the universe and the art in the manhua has made me fixated on being able to create wonderful masterpieces like the author STARember. Ive rewatched the donghua and ive nearly caught up to the manhua, ive also started reading the novel because ive fallen in love with TGFC again. Im also gonna read mxtx's other novels cause ive heard theyre very good too. Im really obsessed at the moment its sorta concerning 😅
