My band director had cancer for many years and picked this song for part of our marching band show after having us play it for concert band. He later passed away and is always with us when we preform it.

This was definitely one of if not my favorite song to play back in high-school when marching season was over. I was playing tuba for this piece and I can't tell you the amount of times I teared up everytime we played because this song was just so beautiful

I was the vibraphone in this piece. My entire band cried every time they saw me for a week. It was the best feeling of my life.

Brings tears to my eyes every time...blessed be the name of the Lord. I still remember playing this in high school almost ten years ago, and even then it moved me. What an outstandingly beautiful piece.

we played this last year for our graduation. One of the seniors that year Emily Slusser had just died a few weeks before, and this was her favorite song. two of our seniors who her close friends split the flute solo. it was so beautiful and heart touching.

We're playing this song for our band class right now, and my band teacher told us about the meaning behind it. Truly a sad, but powerful song.

We played this in my community band. Just before our performance, the director told the audience the background story. He had never told it to the band. We were in shock ourselves, but perhaps he felt we would play it with that much more feeling. I truly cannot remember how we played it.

I played this song when i was in seventh grade. at first our band weren't performing so well. So our band director decided to tell us about this song. How it was written for a girl that had died before her homecoming and the rest of the story... After that the band realized that this song was ment to be special. So during our concerts we the judges would put comments like "WOW".! we got sweepstakes! ~RIP Holly Spivey.~
