That's a great video. The 1970s is very much my wheelhouse, so I'm always looking for new bands to come on my radar. Starz, Moxy, The Dictators, and Leaf Hound will do nicely. Cheers

Great topic! I appreciate that you had 2 Canadian bands during this segment. Here's one you can add....Max Webster. Great Canadian band that was overshadowed by more popular bands at the time. Kim Mitchell, their lead vocalist, went on to have a successful solo career.

Hi George!! well done and cool ide a for a video.... you have showed some great and in cases underrated bands like LeafHound, Atomic Rooster, Dust and even Budgie. I would like to suggest Bang (US answer to Sabbath) and Lucifer's Friend, their s/t album is awesome and the artwork too!!! Hope many "young" metalheads watch and learn about heavy music in the 70's and realize how things evolve and not believe it all started with the bands they listen now. cheers and be well

Excellent choices. I'm old enough to have had at least one album by all of those bands. For me, best years for hard rock were 65 through 75! Have to mention my favorite band , Blue Oyster Cult. First three albums are classics!

Stray s/t 1970 Stray Suicide 1971 Stray Saturday Morning Pictures 1972 They did 5 more albums varying in quality. Mostly good in my opinion. But they were growing as musicians. The last 2 albums i feel they became victim of the “we need some hits” from the record company. Those albums are half/half affairs.

I got heat exhaustion today unfortunately. My fault. Was 92 here and didn't eat or drink much. Definitely helped relaxing to this great video. A good amount of the bands mentioned I haven't heard anything from. Definitely want to get more 70s stuff soon. This will help me a lot making buying decisions. Thanks George.

Any man into Budgie is definitely a friend of mine 😊 Love all their albums. Power Supply is a dark horse almost NWOBHM ish offering. My favorite album by them is surprise time……If I were Britannia I’d waive the rules. Love the kicked back nature of this. Just really loose playing. Black Velvet Stallion is the highlight. Of course first 5 albums are very classic. No debate there. 🤘

Seeing as you mentioned the cover of Atomic Rooster's 'Death Walks Behind You', any English major can tell it's by seminal poet and painter William Blake. Specifically it's his image of Nebuchadnezzar. You might also like to know that the cover of Dust's 'Hard Attack' is Frank Frazetta's 'Snow Giants.' (Molly Hatchet used his work on a number of covers BTW.) Always nice to see Nazareth get a shout out. Great 70s band.

Most of those groups, I did not like in the 70s, when I was young and open to all types of music. The rest I never heard of, so if they are like the others, I am glad I didn't hear of them. The 70s had some really great music, too bad they are not represented here.
