i remember it but only from playing it at my local bowling alley, that game was constantly jammed with kids, the Arcade version was seriously awesome.

The arcade version was great, but EASY, so in a way, great. It was a rotary joystick, so you turned the joystick to direct the weapon, and the joystick also controlled your movement. Kind of like an early geometry wars in a way, in the gameplay at least.

In 3rd grade in 1990 me and my best friend Al Twigg would play Heavy Barrel 2 player non stop...some of my best NES memories as a youth were of this game ...and he got a Sega Genesis that year and we would play Golden axe 2 player co-op too ...good times!!😁😁😁

I loved this game lol. Found it in the attic of an old house I moved to when I was little, that and the terrible Bible Adventures. What a day...but either way if you had a sibling are friend to play with Heavy Barrel was a good time.

Always love to see when you've put up a new video. My buddy and I used to play this when we were kids. It's fun enough for 2 players, but probably C-Tier compared to better 2 player games. The thing that I remember the most is the unintelligible "REEEE BARAAHHH!" when you get all of the pieces of the Heavy Barrel.

Coincidentally I picked up a copy of this yesterday. One thing. Why did Data East hate “attract screens” or “demo modes”? Just a static screen with music when you turn it on. Same with Karnov. Sometimes I just like to have a game on in the background with a nice demo. Top 10 Attract Screens has a nice ring to it....

Data East recycled music a lot in their games -- Midnight Resistance immediately comes to mind. I've owned this game for quite a while, but I've never put a whole lot of time into it. I'm more familiar with the arcade version. I should pop it back in soon. Great video, man!
