Heavy duty DIY bed

We make a seriously heavy duty bed.
Suitable for years of 'service' ;)
Materials:
For the legs 6x4 inch fence posts. The length depends on how high you want the bed off the ground.
Side supports and the middle bracing are 4x2 inch, once again length depends on mattress sizes and I think US mattresses are differently sized to UK ones.
The top is just MDF sheet.
You will also need wood screws, we used decking screws as that's what we had. Oh and some wood glue.
Tools:
Circular Saw (really dangerous, you could cut all you fingers off)
Router (also really dangerous, 300000rpm spinning blade of death)
Chisel (sharp, could slice face off)
Drill/driver (you could fall and it stab you in the eye)
Electric Plane (will quickly remove skin to the bone)
We are not professionals. We do not know how to work any of the tools in videos. According to the comments, we should have actually died making that bed.

I loved the bed I just wish you had added a little more step by step and provided more explanation. I am seeking to build a bed for my daughter and would have loved to make this bed but since I am new to all this your video is too brief for my entry type skill level. I think you did an amazing job though!!

This is awesome. I've been looking for a simple design just like this, but I think I would forgo the screws/glue, and use threaded inserts and bolts so it could be taken apart multiple times. I would also make notches for slats instead of using a single piece of MDF. Personally my idea bed would have this exact style, but functionally should be easy to take apart and move.

Remember when we build shelves by laying the planks on bricks? I'm going to just nail my sides, top and bottom to some square, squat pieces of wood.

my friend thought this was a good idea years ago, turns out the reason the have panels is so that the air can get in through the mattress freely, if the air cant do that, you get this lovely build up of mold layering under the mattress, due to sweat and god knows what else! DONT DO IT LIKE THIS!!!!
@DavidMcLuckie

This is true, but at the request of the bed owners wife the mattress was to completely cover the frame. You could use non slip mats to stop a mattress moving. This mattress being a heavy one hasn't moved.
