this could have been a stellar, great video about the logistics and feet on the ground movement of some heavy haul items. But instead you totally screw it up with some really lame, unnecessary music that is just not fit at all. For those of us who are in logistics and other freight movement, you could have used some of the audio from your video clips that was actually what was really happening. The tractors engine sounds moving the trailers, the crane lifting the engines, and as interesting, since so many comments seem to ask, some of the issues dealt with in this kind of move. It would have been great hearing the foreman and safety officers briefing the crews in the video. You show them meeting, why not shed some lignt on the subject and event by letting the viewers in on what instructions, plans, issues, concerns and questions were they discussed. Very high quality video, but the lowest of low audio track. Videographers must do a better job in today's media environment. NO excuse for this audio track. IT just plain stinks.

Simple. Separate cylinders, separate crank throws, bolt it all together on site. I could draw you the plans.
@johnjbarnes785 жыл бұрын
That's actually how they rebuild the engines in river tugs - the ones that move barges the length of the river
@johnjbarnes785 жыл бұрын
@bwahahaha ! Suppose I should have tagged the person I was responding to, huh? My comment was in reference to the comment by sammolly1. EMD engines have separate "power packs" wherein each cylinder is a cylinder sleeve; a piston and connecting rod; and may include the head. This is for 'quick' repairs when one cylinder goes soft significantly affecting performance, they stop at their next fleet and tie off while the swap is completed. Similar process when rebuilding the whole engine ss the crankshaft is rarely damaged from what I was told years ago.
@johnjbarnes785 жыл бұрын
@bwahahaha ! The tugs I worked on 20 years ago were 7000 - 10500 hp (two EMD diesel engines each making 3500 - 5500 hp turning separate propellers) we would push upwards of 42 barges at a time (although not always that many) that's nearly 1/4 mile long and 200 - 250 ft wide plus the tug for another 180 ft by 45 ft give or take.
@sammolloy15 жыл бұрын
Normally I don’t respond to morons, bwahoo, but.... for years, automobile and water cooled aircraft blocks had separate parts. Henry Ford did not invent the V-8. He just figured out a way to make cheap ones by casting the block in one piece. And the first 2-stroke Kawasaki three cylinder 500’s had a crankshaft made of separate throws, with rubber seals between them (2 stroke, look up how they work).
