Somewhere down wind of WTW there’s going to be a rain shower with a distinct watermelon flavor, from all the vaporized watermelons. The degree of vaporization is difficult to quantify from the close up videos, it’s safe to say that if the little cartridge vaporized a frozen watermelon, that larger cartridges would increase vaporization proportionately. Truly a FUN video.

WOW!!! Adam, that was awesome my friend!! I also have all 3 calibers you shot in this video, and like you I also favor the 300 WSM over the 300 Win Mag! In fact I actually like it over the 338 Win Mag because it's easier on the shoulder! I'm probably about double your age so shoulder punishing factors matter to me! What would I like to see??? How about a frozen watermelon test with a 270 WSM, the 6.8 Western and either a 6.5 PRC or 300 PRC. THAT would be something else!!

We just got a .338 WM, Ruger M77 mkII Hawkeye, SS/green laminated stock. It's...impressive. Trajectory seems to be alike a .30/06 with heavy loads using similar SD bullets. It just hits a lot harder.

The 300 wsm was my go too cartridge , I started with the 7mm wsm because it's the sexiest looking cartridge I've ever seen but it didn't catch on and ammo disappeared so went with the 300 , it hits hard on both ends !

When watermelon season opens, I suggest a 22wmr or 17hmr because those larger calibers waste too much meat. Wait a minute are you shooting melons out of season? Can I see your melon license and tags?

I've done that with fresh watermelon using a 308win(150gr) and a 45/70(405gr). Never thought of freezing them, going to have to try it.

I'm a fan of 300 Win Mag fan but the 338 made a 'mist'. That recoil is bad though; one of those caught a deer hunting buddy off guard and knocked him out of a tree once.
