love the part where he talks about the contrast between people using art to express their emotions and personal journey vs using art to give people a glimpse into other worlds. i hate the former because it just feels like navel gazing. the latter appeals to the desire to explore.

I initially liked Alkaloid because of the Hannes type of writing. They reminded me of Obscura and Gorod. After their second album I fell in love with Alkaloid specifically with the Morean type of writing. The way his songs revolve around a theme and the fluid composition he brings to the table made Alkaloid my favourite band for 5 years now. It is extremely rare to see a metal bands write songs like that. I only hear this type of composition in classical pieces. This plus the fact that I just love tech death and it just hits the spot. The Numen is one of the most insane songs I have ever heard in my life. I am beyond hyped for the whole album!
