Heavy NOSTALGIA Vibes | Exploring the Small Town USA Streets of Surry, Virginia

In today's adventure we're taking a quick look at the any-town-USA town of Surry, Virgnia. A small southern town in rural Virginia that only has a population of a couple hundred people. It is all but a ghost town with empty streets and buildings, and yet there's something very nostalgic about it, so I thought I'd document it and share it with you all. Hope you enjoy!

Thank you for that tour. We lived in Surry from 1985 to 1990. I worked at the Surrey House from ‘85 to ‘87. The owners, the Gwaltneys, lived in the house at the back of the restaurant when they owned it.

My ancestors have been living in this town since the 1700’s and they were free African Americans.

Thanks for the video. What was a thriving small-town community. Is now in decay, as a result of uneducated local buerocrat greed. A once wonderful place is now in decay.

Every year on the 5th of May, the three churches meet in the middle of the street at the stop light and beat the hell out of each other. The Lord works in mysterious ways

Is there another brick historic church nearby my ancestors come from that area and I thought their baptism and marriage records were in a church but it wasn't either of the two you showed
