In the case of Norman's ARI glasses, it's because it fucks with his brain the longer he uses it. He's supposed to take Triptocaine (that blue drug he snorts) to help nullify the effects (to a point). Stops him from having hallucinations and shit. Unfortunately both the ARI and the Tripto are habit forming/addicting. And Norman is *deeply* addicted to both (or so the game implies). Especially the ARI which means he has to use more Tripto. Supposedly, if you use the ARI for too long it will eventually drive you insane, but I'll asume in this case, what with his eyes bleeding and such, a blood vessel or something of the sort may have burst in his brain. :| Who knows. Since it's fantasty technology and Tripto itself is a fantasy drug we're not going to have any definitive answer unless the creators of the game pulled something out of their ass to fully explain it.

This is incorrect. Ethan will only make it to the warehouse if you pass all trials & get the address, guess the address in the taxi at the end correctly or have Madison escape the killers house & call Ethan to tell him she knows the address. In my first run, i failed the butterfly trial & misguessed the address in the taxi because i didn't have the letters. Madison had died ages back. Jayden was all i had going into the warehouse scene. There are zero fail-safes hence trophy Perfect Crime.
