Huh, that explains a lot. I never played the game, but i watched enough gameplays of it to know how the whole plot goes. And i always wondered what was up with the whole black outs thing. I assumed it was simply a red herring to make the player think Ethan may be the killer and theres no real reason for it outside of that because its a poorly written game. It turns out its prety much that. Aparently they decided it didnt need an explantion even though they had a perfectly funtional explantion already. I understand why they cut it though, its a little too fantastical to fit with the rest of the game. The whole vr thing was out of place enough by itself, no need to add to that.

@@amitr24242 Right, its the difference between when he actually gets invested in a game and when hes just having fun ruining it because he doesnt care enough to do otherwise. In Detroit Become Human, outside a few terrible choices (cause Kevins gotta Kevin), he play it right with the intent of reaching a good ending for every character. As oposite to his usual modus operandi of picking the worst options every time in an active effort to get every character killed as soon a posible. So, though from what i gather he didnt reach an entirely good ending, he did end it in a way thats miles better that prety much every other choice based game he has played. May be an important factor to explain why its the only one of said choices based games he revisited, just to get everyone killed first chance he got and feck everything up. So, yeah, eventually he has to fuck things up. If he doesnt do it the first time he will make sure of doing it in the second go-round. Its simply his nature.

6:19 that line was left in from an earlier script of the game. Originally it was meant to have supernatural elements, similar to David Cage's other games like Fahrenheit and Beyond Two Souls. However, he removed them in order for the story to appear more "realistic". However, he didn't re-write the script much and that's why a lot of things don't make sense later on or are just unexplained. Ethan's blackouts are the best example; they are never explained.
