Nicely done! Just goes to show there is more than 1 way to win it. A friend kind of reverse engineered the solo game and that's usually how we approach it. 2 mega companies with 3 licenses each and run from there with 3 trains if possible. But the main things for making it successful are: build as little track as possible so you get more upgrades, have multiple exits for Freight and Express, ECR/EUR/ESR/FDR should be open for the money runs, and buy 1 train per OR. The Yorkshiremen can be done 3,1,2,1,3,2 for the controlled easier run; that takes you right up to F trains. Run it that way a few times to get practice on improving your scores. Only difference is, they bought up the E's and skipped the F's instead of letting the 2-E's get eaten. There's a really good feeling when you have your trains in place as you run that 3rd OR(for money) before the LNER final 3. But the solo option is why 1862 is one of my favorites of the genre.

If you ever want to try it again, try not merging or refinancing at all. (Don't buy too many early trains, withold when needed, and end up with 5 or 6 companies.) You can buy so many shares at IPO price in the last SR. Even if they only have 1 permanent each you will get a good score.

Great play guys, congrats to sucha a high score! Very inspiring. I have only one question. FDR in your game did not have a token in London, so was it allowed to count 490 income?

Congratulations! With James, Alyssa, and Edward collaborating, it IS possible to win 1862 solo. Having seen it done, I am excited about trying it again on my table. Thanks everyone

First of all CONGRATS!!!! Maegashuri. I found when I tried this (9500) thanking Edward because I watched all 3 playthroughs before I did, and I have to try it again now because I have to get a higher score. I only opened 5 companies and elected to buy shares instead of open the 6th. I only merged 2 during the game so at the end I was able to purchase ALOT becuase my first local was still at 54 and 2 others at 58 and 62. So I am not sold on multiple merges because of the share price (to buy) toward the end of the game.
