I can see a mini hangar in the future for the cabin. What would be cool, and others have touched on it sort of, would be an inflatable hangar, heated of course. You'd have to figure out tie downs and maybe snow loads, but hey, you got the guys in your contacts that could do it. Obviously portable, good for snow & cold, sand & heat, security . . . sort of. Hope you get her out, cause it's still snowing here in Idaho.

Them having a show on T.V. has nothing to do with the KZbin channel.. Those are 2 completely different shows & production crews behind them.. the discovery show has a production crew & they have say in how they want the show to look to the viewers and the KZbin channel is HeavyD's view & he usually has a cameraman plus a drone pilot but its all what HeavyD wants to be shown on the KZbin channel..

Heavy D, you need a huge military parachute draped over the helicopter and tucked tight to the ground. Then a large propane or kerosine forced air heater connected to the side of the parachute, with a large air duct will inflate the parachute and create a warm space around the helicopter melting the ice and snow. It’s amazing how well the parachute will create a warm bubble from the forced air and heat. Awesome recovery! I look forward to the helicopter recovery.

38:00 Here's another idea. As the chopper has SKIDS, just take the rotors off, & then (narrowed) why not tow it out - like a toboggan. Only as far as the main parking area, and winch it (on it's skids) up onto the lowboy / 5th wheel trailer. Then after you road haul it back to the workshop, simply park that load, inside the hanger, lowboy / chopper & all. Later - when you can fly it again - (in sunshine clear sky etc.) simply refit the rotors (dry now) and fly it up off the trailer.

Just throw a tarp over it put a propane heater in it and thaw it out. we used this technique when thawing out snow groomers that broke down on the hill and the tell you 8 hrs later and its frozen. with the size of a helicopter maybe a military parachute or hot air balloon material. a boom lift could raise them up and over, need a 10 foot long pipe 10 or 12" round to keep the turbo torch heater away from the tarp. your good to go. love the show guys cant wait until the next video. have yourself a merry Christmas and a happy New Year Mr. B

I don’t think people realize just how smart Dave is. In the shows they look like badasses just out having fun but Dave is a very savvy businessman and is just extremely smart, I noticed it first when he started speaking Spanish as well as he did.. but yea it’s cool to see forsure.

I've never flown in a helicopter it's one of my things on the wish list but I would love to work on one first I was born without a disc in my back and I was going to be a helicopter mechanic in the Navy but after my ASVAB test I want to take my physical and was told that the age of 19 I was able to go in because of back issues I would love just to change a spark plug and go up in the air just to experience what most people take for granted it looks like an amazing ride keep doing what you guys do I know everybody out there appreciates it and watches you guys because you do it hard and right thank you for giving me something to watch on a daily basis so I can look forward to bigger and better things

Haha look like a good time, you should come up to Fairbanks alaska-6" of snow followed by 10" of snow, followed by 1 1/2 of freezing rain, followed by roaming black outs because of trees being so heavy from ice they break and land on power lines -my house was out of power for 27 hours. Then we got another 16" of snow and then it went from 32 degrees down to 51 below in three days. Seems like we are all having fun with weather. Thanks again for the good video.

Kudos to you for managing to get one tracked vehicle down off the hill with the rip saw, and I hope that you can retrieve the helicopter before it's completely buried which it might already be because I don't think you made it all the way to the cabin this time. I watched a previous video where you had to dig out your cabin to keep it from collapsing! I had similar experience living on the west end of Donner Lake for one winter. It snowed so heavily that year that the snow was literally 25 ft deep and more in drift areas. We had to park our vehicles at the boat ramp parking lot and walk to the house, then dig a tunnel to the front door just to get into the house. This was an all-day process after it finally quit snowing. My partner started digging from the front door, while I bailed out from the upper window and started digging from the road, which by that point had finally gotten plowed by one of the big trucks but unfortunately not one of the big snow blowers so there was a berm across where the driveway was that we couldn't even dig through until it finally melted later on in the spring. I can remember a couple times on the 4th of July when it started out a nice day and we went to the West end of Donner Lake and up onto a little property that was vacant at that time just to watch the fireworks show. Just before sundown it started snowing like crazy and didn't stop until there was almost 2 ft of snow on the ground! But, we weren't about to give up we sat on top of the vehicles and watch the fireworks and then drove back into town

Frost king heat cable inside a blade cover. Have the heat cable in the cover and slide it on with snow knocked off and one generator will do the trick. Works every time and will not damage the blades.
