18:04 Just a tip for when you are towing vehicles in deep snow or mud, rather than connecting to a single off center pulling point (this caused the vehicle being towed to slew to the side opposite from the tow point), create a bridal that is connected to both pulling points (tow hooks in this case), then connect the pull rope/cable/chain to the center of the bridal. This will keep the vehicle being towed centered behind the tow vehicle.

Much of the time they do make up a bridle, not sure why not this particular job. Definitely would've made for a straighter and little bit easier pull.

It amazes me, that in blinding snow, in the dark, you can find the trails even when they are drifted over. Mountain roads are scary enough in great weather, but covered in snow they are so dangerous. Great job Dave and crew!

You know what amazes me? In all these recoveries the people have been sitting by the vehicle for hours waiting for help and couldn’t at least have the snow around it dug out before they got there to recover it lol.

@@NovemberFoxtrotRC Think they said they didnt have service at the vehicle so likely had no idea when they would arrive... thus no reason to waste energy that might be needed if they arent found or something... just a litle theory

You're not missing much with regards to snow Jessica. I'm from the uk and our winters are generally cold wet and miserable. Fresh snow is a beautiful sight to wake up to, but its beauty is short lived. Once walked on or driven on the snow compacts into solid and treacherous ice. Then eventually, the snow and ice starts to thaw. And that's the worst part of the cycle cos the once pure and white beautiful snow is filthy dirty and icy dirty water covers the land in its place. I wish I was 39 and lived in Australia having never seen snow before.

That was one of the finest outtakes I've ever seen on a video whether it be produced for a movie or a TV show or anything when that snow cat was going down that trail and all you see is the horizon at the end of this video that was beautiful, and the music fit the scene perfectly. I'm more of a winter guy. But i like spring and fall. About 30yrs ago a bunch of buddies and I had gone mudding up behind the capital in Salt Lake City. We all had chevy S-10's and had the best time of our life's. It was raining and my buddy and I had gone over and couldn't get back over the mountain and ended up in an old mining area that we got stuck in as there was an 8 ft fence all around us. But that was the best time that we all have ever had together and one that I will never forget and always cherish. As my befriend is no longer with us. R.I.P Mark Ballif. I must say for every time you go out to a recovery you and your crew remember what you've learned previously on other rescues! As for your question about the weather. I myself have learned traveling the world courtesy of the government that weather and attitude are one in the same! I've gained an appreciation for Mother Nature and am willing to work with her, not against her no matter the weather! You can have all the fancy gear and your attitude will determine whether you enjoy the ride or fail and be miserable! Keep your cool, your wits about you and be the light for you are never alone! Fear nothing and walk with grace as you are in grace everyday you wake up!
