One of the best heavy equipment units I’ve ever had was a Cat 950 exactly like the one you grabbed here in this video. This was one of the last series of machines that weren’t made from ANY recycled metal. It was all dirt metal. The REALLY good stuff. I was religious about keeping it perfectly lubed at all times. I used to regularly strip out/off the grease that got loaded up with sand and dirt particles and would refresh the grease. Same diligence was performed on all the hydraulics and the engine and that friggin thing NEVER left me hanging. It was a rock solid reliable beast. I sold it to a landscaping company that had adopted and have kept up the same elevated level of preventive maintenance I did for that unit. It’s now literally 20 years later since they bought it and they still use that thing as a primary piece of job site equipment. I loved hearing that to this day they have never had a single maintenance issue that has shut the machine down in the field and from that example I presented to them of what sort of service life you can get by never neglecting the PM on the 950, they now do that same thing for ALL their equipment. Pretty cool!! 😎😎😎

Sparks has a great command presence, he treats the crew great, and gets in there and isn't afraid of doing the heavy lifting, or getting dirty. He also doesn't dwell on what is, he jumps to violence of force and he knows the bruit force he can bring to the table. This is a great team, his men follow, because he knows what he's doing. Another great video guys! It doesn't hurt that he can drive or fly pretty much anything, I'm still waiting for him to say, "I found a great deal on an F-16"! 😂

We made a "slick" bottom trailer with a couple of duallys and I beams and some wood between for dragging tree stumps after a flood and it worked like a beast! Over all kinds of shit too, trees, roots, rocks and it floated on the mud when the wheels sank so it was kind of half sled half trailer, also used on the road for a couple of 35mi trip with some trucks the water took... Maybe something between your idea and mine would work very well in situations like this one!

Hello everyone involved with the recovery. Before the pandemic, I might have watched a few videos of your channel, but without the Blackhawk, I probably would not have invested much time into watching. I am so glad I was introduced to you when I had the time, because I would have missed out on so many adventures, entertaining stories, recoveries and just good old fashioned helping people videos that I now recommend your videos to my family and friends all the time. I have come to respect everyone there for the different skills they bring to the fun, the rescues and the recoveries. Please keep doing what your doing, as everyone needs more stories about being good, doing good and playing hard in their lives today. Positive stories are few and far between in regular tv today, but with you guys its an every day thing, thank you for the knowledge and the entertainment. PS Tell Allen to quite flying around when your working, the wizard ways make the mortals nervous! Peace.

As long as I'm already trying to tell you how to do things😂... You guys need to make some "Tread Sleds" to put underneath tracked vehicles whenever you need to drag them out like that dead excavator. A couple pieces of 4x8 (or 4x12?) 1/4" AR plate with a few inches bent up 90 degrees down the length of each side, with a bunch of 2" holes punched down both sides to attach hooks, chain binders, etc.. You could make a set of long clevis pins out of 4340 steel that can be run thru holes on each side at one end of the sled to use as a curb stop to pull and seat the tracks against. You could use an excavator to lift each side of the disabled vehicle and place the sleds underneath it (preferred),. Then strap them all together with chain binders and drag away. Slicker than snot on a doorknob!
@oldfarthacks
@oldfarthacks Жыл бұрын
So true, sleds would be very helpful. But in this case, I was surprised to see that loader more or less skating across the surface. I had expected it to dig in. That says that the surface is more or less a gravel instead of dirt, which makes sense because it is in a river bed area.

It's great to see the Dave's work together so well. Diesel knew when to stop pulling when Sparks stopped pulling him so there was no slipping. Whatever the deal with Sany is, they have gotten their money's worth out of it. Dave has admitted that he does these things as a hobby and he's not a professional at it and yet he's showing off how good this equipment is. If I was in the market for heavy equipment, I'd buy a Sany based on what I've seen these guys do. I love these kinds of videos and I'm patiently waiting for the next one. This is great watching the SPARK BOYS having a lot of fun while they work - it tears down the tension when they have to think on their feet to prevent making any mistakes. WOW!!! Diesel Dave is in a "Pickle" the wheels are being affected by the river stream current a bit too strong so HEAVYD to the rescue!!! That's what the BIG BOY TOYS are made for - pulling and tugging other BOY TOYS out of a difficult situation. That was very entertaining Diesel Dave got you out of a "Pickle." That bulldozer is what the Wizard needs for his up the mountain road to his Fortress - ask HEAVYD Wizard - ask!!! TIP If you want to get rid of mosquitoes just use CD40 spray - should do the trick!!! The BIG MEAN GREEN MACHINE needs a helping hand with HEAVYD dragging it along with the broken down crane behind is what BIG MEAN MACHINES are all about. Great job BOYS!!! NOT finished yet - Wizard swinging across the cable to the other side of the river being a "monkey gorilla" having fun, while HEAVYD struggles to pull in tow his load up the river stream. That was really tricky tugging and pulling - you have to know what you are doing for entertainment. It made it even more difficult with the back wheel blades of the crane not able to rotate but dragging would be hard on the SY265C LC SANY but she did an awesome job well done SANY - you little BOY TOY bigger than your brothers LOL!!! What a day - hope all is well SPARK BOYS!!! I enjoyed that entertainment - thank you cameraman!!!
