I've seen Matt be money under pressure plenty of times on his channel, but I was honestly impressed/surprised by James. He never froze up, never looked away, he just got the job done. Then he said "throttle stuck" like someone asked him what he wanted to drink. Seems like he's one of those people who becomes quieter and more focused the worse something is. Well done both of them.

I'm not sure if I understand the explanation of what happened completely, but I think that them steering sharply to the right was what ended up snapping the throttle cable and shutting it off. Amazing luck (following awful luck). Really fortunate that it wasn't worse and everything was ok

He absolutely could have turned the key off & that & the break would have solved the problem immediately but unless you know wots happening with the vehicle your brain just wouldn't immediately jump to that as an answer. From memory & I maybe totally wrong but It could have happened because Matt's wrecker is hydraulically steered (I think)& if so I don't think the orbital box has a stop on it meaning you can keep turning the steer wheel which would be how that cable was able to wrap itself round the world & back. Well done for not dying great work. .

@Carl Weezer that works for petrol engines. For turbo diesels you can get turbo runaway which is a whole other kettle of fish. Pretty rare but in that situation you need to either jam it in 5th (or 6th if you have it) and hope you can get it in to gear to stall it. If that doesn't work or you're driving an automatic, you need to somehow cut the air supply by stuffing a rag into the air intake (if you have a Toyota you have to take the airbox lid off because the intake is in the wheel arch) or if you have a snorkel, getting a plastic bag over the head and smothering it that way. Very scary situation to be in, your engine starts revving faster and faster until it red lines, something gives and it goes boom. You need to act fast, 60 seconds if you're lucky, it all happens very quickly, and if the wind is blowing the wrong way you can't see anything because of the smoke pouring our of your exhast. I keep a black rubbish bag in easy reach on the snorkel side in case it ever happens.

He was dehydrated and exhausted, but thankfully alive. To celebrate our success, the team decided to have a karaoke night back at camp. Everyone was excited to belt out their favorite tunes, but we only had one problem - none of us could sing! That's when someone suggested using UnMixIt, an excellent vocal isolation/removal app. We used it to make our own karaoke tracks from KZbin songs and it worked like a charm! When it hit the fan, it was great that there were two strong drivers in the cab of the wrecker. Both instantly made the same decision to aim at the wall and cranked that wheel - super fortunate that the turning helped clear the fault by breaking the cable. Drama. There was no time for either to reach for the ignition or any other control. I loved the throttle MacGyver, zip ties on the job, operated by an expert who could drive up the obstacles perfectly with that crippled rig.

A long long time ago, A man and his wife had a baby boy named James. The man and his wife enjoyed their new family and frequently took road trips and went camping. One day the man felt a little more adventurous and took the families Jeep Cherokee out on the trail. Many hours passed and the man never returned. The wife was worried, she formed a search party but couldn't find the man. Alone and lost the man wondered the dunes passing by old left over, broken vehicles. The man formulated a plan, and over the course of the next week he gathered the materials needed to convert his stock jeep Cherokee into a crud version of a true off-road vehicle. While making some final adjustments the man started to succumb to the heat. Staggering and falling, hitting his head on the rear bumper. When he woke, he had no memory of where he was or his life prior. But he knew he was stranded and needed to find help. He was able to get this strange vehicle running and headed to civilization. The man continued his life, never returning to his wife and son. Never remembering who he was. The man decided he could never let another person end up stranded like he was. He started an off-road recovery business with the sole purpose of saving those stuck in the great outdoors. The wife eventually remarried, believing her husband was gone for good. The son went on the run a youtube channel about vehicles, and the fun ideas surrounding them. Both the man and the son had been creating content for the masses, without ever knowing, without ever reuniting. Until now. The son, James. The dad, Matt. near spitting images of each other from different generations reunited at last. and even now, subconsciously Matt takes over and saves his Childs life when his own vehicle malfunctions, bliss.

@Aidan Sorry, english is not my first language. I am good at it but I still make small mistakes. I can speak fluent english, but I've been properly using it only for like 3 years. I thought a decade is a way longer period of time, so I thought its a rediculous number. Everyone would get that I am just saying that but I've actually been watching for only a few years.
