This custom overland 1974 Jeep J20 is any red blooded American's dream. Old iron V8, 40" tires, a rooftop tent, and a slew of custom fabrication and gear sets this vintage FSJ apart from the crowd in a big way in this episode of Terminal Apex (S1 E02).
Troy and Tony set out to save a classic Jeep pickup that had fallen into despair, and it ended up becoming something much more.

As a 25yr film maker I'm usually very critical of videos that try to capture scenery and a story at once. It's an artform that few possess, but this video does it right, and more. Perfect blend of story, character, Jeep, scenery and music. Well done HMC, well done.👍 Add to that the amazing ROAMR...wow. What a Jeep. I'd love to find a J20 to build with many of the same ideas.

I will say, when we originally shot the footage for this piece it was for a different goal, but eventually became part of this series, so that is why it is missing the natural motor sound. The rest of the episodes all have engine notes

As the second owner of a 1966 Jeep J-2000 Gladiator 7'-0" Pickup It is always great to see other old J -series Jeep's preserved and put to work. My old Jeep was my Dad's and I still snowplow my driveway with it. Great job on your 1974 !

I have a 75’ J10 and I was always into Jeep and overland/trucks, so to me it’s perfect. I dug it out of a barn and I’m doing the work myself. Though I have no formal training. This video gives me a lot of hope of what I want it to be. I want to to be like as original as possible but the temptation to go all in like a build like this is there. Great work

As a Mechanical Engineer from more than 24 years. I just want to say that this kind of project is the pinacle of a creative life. The whole world needs more guys like you in order to re enginering old machines and to get the shiny result you had performed over this jewel to become it in a master piece of art . Pure, powerfull and refinent blended all together. Keep on doing such great job and just enjoy the results.

Great video and story. Did a frame off build of a CJ-5 doing everything by myself. As parts broke, built it back up stronger. Won't ever let it go. Now building a J-20 with my son, passing on and creating memories.
