Robbie you don't have to apologize for cussing. That's as much apart of Musky fishing as the figure 8.

I actually think this channel is awesome because you include the frustrating parts of the sport. Really increases the drama when you hook a giant!

Normally keep the boat out at least until Nov 30th when musky season closes on Lake Erie and Niagara river. Always try to do black friday fishing instead of shopping!!

I will keep fishing through December possibly into January depending on the weather. Conditions are a little different here in Tennessee. 😁. I caught a 42” last week on a mini boiler maker in 18” of water on the river I was fishing - love that lure.

Those fatties remind me of my dad's October High Falls Crivitz Wisconsin fish of 1987 46.5 inches by 25 inches girth she weighed 32 lbs 8 oz on a certified scale. Yes we got her mounted. Catch and release just started a little back then, when you picked her up you knew she was a thirty pound plus fish but was a little disappointed when measured wasn't 50 inches. Dad is now muskie fishing in heaven.

You guys really buy the moon stuff? I’ve fished only major/minor times this season as an experiment. Big goose egg so far.

For sure. Seems like it works better on some waters however

@@TodaysAngler I’ve fished Longville MN area all season including Leech. With FFS, marking bait clouds, and only majors/minors. Goose egg. I suck no doubt but nothing all season? Every full/new? I went and read the study from 2014. 5% increase catches during moon times, mostly above the 48th parallel. I’m calling folklore on it. Lol. Maybe I should move to Wisconsin!

The reality of musky fishing is that you usually don't catch a fish. The second reality is that if you do catch one, it's usually a shorter/smaller one, especially in northern Wisconsin. Don't get me wrong - there's big fish there. But in my time fishing up there every year, it's usually cookie-cutter fish under 40 inches. Poor minimum size regulations, poor stocking, and tribal spearing continues to do tremendous damage. Thank God we at least have a catch-and-release ethic nowadays among the musky community and some private groups. Don't feel too bad about the shorter fish in the video. As you guys already well know, the old timers used to go by weight, not length. Great fish there. My biggest of last season was a 41.5-incher that had tremendous dimensions and color pattern. Easily 25 pounds. The best genetic specific I've seen, even better than the 50-inchers I've caught. To answer your question, Lee, we musky fish through early November, which is when it usually gets questionable with ice/cold conditions. I rent places up there, and so that makes it harder to go up north at the drop of a hat, such as in mid-late November. I envy guys who live up there and can easily go out whenever they want based on weather conditions.
