Yes...Lee, side image has changed the sport. Beautiful looking fish. We are all pulling for you Lee. Patience will be your victory. Who knows, once they bite you will probably set the record on the bow fin and get a new pb for WI with a musky. I love when you guys bring the older fellas in the boat. Enjoy the technical discussions. Not to be Nelly negative, but I have a set of shades I purchased back in the 90's. All the same lenses. Difference is they are wrap around single lense.. Oakley style razors. Would love to sit down with any of you, over the water or lunch to discuss the sport.

Does anyone else find it impossible to retrieve a Medusa with a single crank and pull technique like Robbie? I have a 9’6 shock and awe w/ Daiwa Prorex 8.1 @ 43” per crank and I need a minimum of 3-5 cranks before pulling up slack - Robbie is literally one crank per pull - I am running a smaller Medusa, either a mid or reg un weighted - could really use a tip to maximize strikes on a Medusa which has yet to produce anything for me personally…..
@stevestrand99482 жыл бұрын
I've been watching Robbie every time he uses a Medussa. It's not a big pull on the rod, but more of a rapid flick technique to load it momentarily. It takes a bit of practice to get it right. You don't want to pull it too far, just twitch it. Lighter Medussas like a Mini or Mid Medussa, I use the SWAT model rod. Heavy ones on the SHOCK AND AWE. I add my own style to it too, but those lures nail fish. Maybe Robbie can chime in here.
@gonefishn3652 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure he's throwing it with a tranx 500. I don't know how much line per turn it does but I know it's gigantic. Like fishing with the wench on my boat trailer. I need one because none of my gear can handle big rubber or big blade's and my reels are 400s.
@jamessheldon96192 жыл бұрын
@@gonefishn365 The tranx 500 is rated at 43” per crank, identical to the new Daiwa - I actually bought the Daiwa to get something with. Better uptake than my revo beast ….it is better but no where near capable of Robbie’s one crank per jerk…..if the tranx came in a 501 left I would have went that route. I may need to adjust the amount pull/jerk per the other comment above….just seems like I’m no where close to the action displayed in the video.
@Fingolfin34232 жыл бұрын
The gear is listed in the video's description if you want to copy it.
@Psykout2 жыл бұрын
I'd have to agree with Steve... Some guys work rubbers with a glide and fall and have longer bigger pulls which creates a lot more slack in the line which equals more cranks to pull it back up. He's doing much smaller snaps in almost a circular motion so I don't think he's actually moving the bait too far, so not much slack to keep up. Kind of reminds me how you walk a small bass topwater, you're snapping when there is a little bit of slack and the cranking just keeps that level of slack always in the line. Just watch the rhythm he has on the crank timed with the snaps, pretty much the same cadence you'd work a hollow body frog, just exaggerated with a 9ft stick and a huge rubber bait haha.

Guys, finally subscribed after watching you for six months. And, got the H30's on order. But, a couple of positive criticism suggestions. You have turned into too much of a sales pitch. I forgive you as the musky fishing is awesome. Please, spend a little time each outing telling us what and why! For example, today the water temperature is... We are fishing a weedline that drops into 12' of water, and we are throwing up into 3' of water and retrieving over the weeds. Etc.!!! Go crazy, show us some diagrams, illustrations, white board is fine, you don't need to be graphics genius's. I want to learn something, not just be entertained. BTW, I credit you guys as being a big part of my musky experience. Last year, my first, I caught one mid-30's and lost about 7 others. This year I have caught 12 ranging from 30" to 50".
@TodaysAngler2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your support. We appreciate your thoughts. Sometimes we give that info, sometimes we don't. As far as selling on the channel if there are no sales there are no videos. It costs an average $500-$1500 to produce a single video and ad revenue on an average videos is under $200 each so we don't have much of a choice. We at least try to do it tastefully. Thanks, Lee
