Begin 1942 begon de Nederlands-Indische Veldtocht: de Japanse verovering van Nederlands-Indië. In een paar maanden tijd veroverden de Japanners Nederlands-Indië. Het KNIL (Koninklijk Nederlands Indisch Leger) kon de Japanse aanval niet stoppen. Wist je dat het de Nederlanders zelf waren die Japan de oorlog verklaarden? Dit gebeurde kort na de Japanse aanval op Pearl Harbor. Maar was dit echt nodig? Was er een mogelijke schikking zoals in Frans Indo-China gebeurde?
