Hebrew for Beginners: the present tense in Hebrew

How does the present tense work in Hebrew? Let's compare it with English.

If you have the present tense plural masculine of the verb "to study", is it pronounced "lom-deem" or "lo-me-deem"? Also, the present tense masculine plural of the piel form of the verb with the root letters resh vav mem "to exalt." Is it pronounced "me-rom-meem" or "me-ro-me-meem"? I don't understand if the schwa is silent or has the little "e" sound in these verb conjugations. In case you answer, thank you.

@@HebrewVerbs I am studying Biblical Hebrew mostly, and they explain the vowels in a very technical and confusing way in every book. They tell you about the schwa either being silent or vocal depending on things like long and short vowels and open and closed syllables and where the accent is in a word. I don't really understand what they are saying. I can't believe that some of these vowels have more than one sound and you have to analyze the word to know which sound it makes. For example, qames hatuph and qames. I have no idea how people tell them apart. They look the same to me. I can't tell if the schwa is silent or has the little "e" sound in some words. I understand "lomdim" is not pronounced "lo-me-dim", but one of my books actually says to pronounce the plural verb "shomrim" as "sho-me-rim" with the schwa being vocal. That book kind of confused me. Also, if you could please tell me how to pronounce the verb "she was" "hay-ta" or "ha-yeta"? I was also confused about the polel (piel) form of the verb with the root letters resh vav mem "to make high, to exalt" in the plural present tense. I don't understand the schwa in the verb because I can't tell if it is "me-rom-meem" or "me-ro-me-meem" in the plural masculine present tense? Does your book explain these forms of verbs too? Does your book have transliterations too or just vowels? Do you explain how can you tell if the schwa is vocal or silent? Maybe your book isn't for Biblical Hebrew. Thanks for answering me.
